Is Pacquiao the last hero/icon of boxing?

    Agreed. Roman though is talking about how he's fighting for the people of Nicaragua. So I would put him ahead as the most likely to transcend boxing to become a "hero", although I'm sure the majority of Nicaraguans already know who El Chocalatito is, it's a matter of time before the rest of the world does.

    Pacquiao will be remembered and talked about by Filipinos long after he dies. Can we say the same about Mayweather after he retires? Once the boxing is gone and he's old, who will care about him? Pacquiao is a legend in his country man. It's insane.

    Pacquiao gets invited to meet the U.S. persident, OUR president. Twice!!! Mayweather will never have that kind of respect.

    Yeah right, I think you might be slipping on American history also because Floyd has met President Obama.
