its not about this win dummy!! Im talking his last 3 fights!! :patsch:patsch:patsch

You clowns are the worst and DKSAB!! Always got to base something off his last fight. i mean his last fight proved hes a monster and beat Gelae more immpressive then GGG did. but Cotto has not lost a round yet with Roach!! thats 15 rounds son, go watch the flim :hi::hi:

He's nice, I gotta admit...but I also can't ignore his level of competition. Just can't do it. One-legged gimp, some dude named Delvin and then Geale. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that this version of Cotto would give anyone a rough time. I'll be rooting for him against Canelo and hoping he can get a rematch with Money. If he gets by Canelo (which I expect him to do), I think he'll give Mayweather all he can handle if they fight again. He won't win but he'll make it damn interesting.

Looks like a lot of people still butt-hurt Cotto making them look foolish. He beat the absolute sh*t out of Martinez. No one picked Cotto in that fight except for a handful of people, fact. People thought Geale would trouble Cotto, but he got stopped, fact.

    Cotto is looking awesome.

Speaking purely in terms of what Cotto can dish out, he may in fact be better than he ever was.

But that ignores the other half of the equation. He can't take what he once could.

It also ignores the fact that Cotto was never really a great fighter (I think he's always been about the level of a Tim Bradley...almost up there but not quite). It also ignores the fact that Cotto lost to Austin Trout and hasn't had a quality win since he beat Mosley:

-Geale was a serviceable middleweight, but draining him took away his main asset: volume punching. That made him a sitting duck, and it probably took a lot out of his punch resistance, reflexes, and will to fight.

-Delvin Rodriquez is not even close to a top 10 fighter in any weight class.

    -Mayorga was done.

    -Foreman and Martinez were crippled.

-Margarito had an eye injury that was easy to exploit and had been severely beaten up twice since beating Cotto the first time.

    -Clottey wasn't even a win.

-Manny and Floyd took him apart easily.

Cotto used to be good because he was HUGE for his weight class. He came in at 159 for 140lb fights. His skill has improved over the course of his career, but his peak was the Mosley/Margarito time period. Since then he hasn't been the same mentally or physically, and moving up even further in weight sacrifices his size advantage. I do think there's been some good coaching going on and that Freddie is a great match for Cotto. But that doesn't mean he's a top fighter in any division.

And he's a middleweight. Probably comes in around 165 on fight night. A small middleweight, but a middleweight.

Cliffs: Cotto's skills have improved but not enough to make him a threat to guys like Alvarez, Lara, Trout, Murray, Andrade, or GGG.

Don't get me wrong, Cotto is beastin' right now - no doubt about it. He looks good (even though I bash his competition in his last 3 fights) and I think that he has new life under Roach. The way he's fighting right now plus his new direction under Roach/Wild Card brings excitement to the sport and has me (and hopefully everyone else) looking forward to his next fight(s).
That being said, I also think a number of fighters would have beaten Martinez that night. Some may disagree but I don't think that left hook from Cotto f*cked up Sergio's knee. He wasn't right going into the fight. Enough of that, tho...just my opinion.
I shouldn't even have to talk about Dat Dude Delvin or Mr. Geale.
I'm not trippin' tho. After the career he's had, he deserves the praise he's getting now. A lot of people wrote him off and he's proving a lot of people wrong. He took a beating from Margo and got his revenge; more than held his own against Money; bounced back after the Trout loss and came back like a monster.
His storyline thus far is one of the most interesting out there because this IS the best he's ever been...but let's calm down a little and bring on Canelo...

drain this and drain that. dude came in 182, Cotto dropped him nasty and won more impressive then GGG and Geale is GGG's best or 2nd best fighter on his resume :lol:

And again dummy, its not all about who he beat. u can watch him and tell the pure skill hes showing. u cant watch him and see Canelo and GGG would have problems with him...hell anybody else also?!?!!

If u cant then YDKSAB!! its ok, most dont know and your just another part of that group but man get it together! Cotto is a damn machine. discredit all his opponets but it doesnt matter because u anit nobody. Cotto is a killer and i feel bad for anybody going in the ring with him the next 4-5 years

Tim bradley will never be the fighter Cotto is bro, terrible comparsion.

geale wasnt drained and hes not a voulme puncher. hes a boxer with Movement. you really think him coming in 160 means he had a chance?? dude was gonna get KO once he signed the paper!

Foreman and Martinez was not crippled, more excuses.

    Clottey was a good win

Margarito is a cheater and Cotto should only have 3 losses.

I think Pac was juiced when he fought Cotto but either way, theres no problem losing to the fighter of the decade bro. Mayweather beat him but wasnt the easiest, Pacquiao was wayyy easier then his Cotto fight. Mayweather to this day says Cotto was his hardest fight ever and the strongest puncher hes ever faced

    Sorry, Buck.

    Delvin Rodriguez
    A shot Martinez &
    Daniel Geale.

These are confidence builders, but hardly a test of Cotto's resurgence.

    I agree.

After the Cotto fight, Mayweather went into straight P USSY ASS BlTCH mode like a straight BlTCH.

He was NEVER gonna FIGHt again.

He was gonna perform on TV and have his FATHER call him a coward!!!!

HE lost that fight against Pacquaio. Pacquaio landed more punches and landed the harder punches.

Floyd had the judges pick him for that ****.

Playin ***** mode from day 1.

everybody can always discredit a mans opponet after the fact. Fact is, Cotto was an good underdog against Martinez. I bet Cotto by KO, easy win. now its one leg this and that but Martinez never had defense and was never gonna bet anybody of Cotto's skill level with his hands down :lol:

geale is a top 5 MW and got the **** beat out of him but somebody that isnt a MW. looked better doing it then GGG did
