Cotto has proved his ***** year after year, time and time again the man is a warrior... but that fight was a ****ing joke. If your the MIDDLEWEIGHT champion, then defend your title without this catchweight *******s - it's a disgrace.

    Laughable.

Was a good performance and much better than i thought. His footwork was good and very fast and his combinations were quick, accurate and hard like the old cotto. Would he beat GGG no chance and he wont fight him but vs canelonis a 50/50 for me and a very good fight though the winner should fight GGG or forever be labeled a pu55y

I do think the sanctioning bodies should say no catchweight for a world title. Will they ? No way

Great performance but I agree with the general sentiment RE the catchweight stuff. A belt shouldn't be allowed on a catchweight, no way.

As for Geale, he looked like he would make it competitive until his corner told him to open up more. Left a huge gap and got exploited by a great shot.

Anyone see the interview after? Cotto didn't sound overly bullish on a GGG fight. Which I don't mind because as he said he isn't a middleweight...so drop the damn belt man!

Always been a massive Cotto fan but getting tired now of his Diva demands and borderline fcucking cheating with this catchweight nonsense ,also time the WBC stood up and enforced him to defend at the weight or fcuk off to another weight division , Cotto and Danny Garcia are becoming complete knobs with this constant catchweight issue , ive no issue with a catchweight if say to guys 1 from 140 and 1 from 154 want to meet in a middle ground at 147 but do not contest a world title fight with your bull , The same goes for voluntary defences it needs to stop , when you win the belt you should always contest the next best in line in your mandatory unless an injury etc if your the best in your class you should always face the next best in line behind you

Its like they are better than the sport and dont have to adhere to the weight classes.

The catchweight thing was an abominable sham and Geale didn't look as sharp as we are used to after the struggle to make weight.

But it was vintage Cotto on the night. He looked revitalized, and after he hurt Geale to the body early and slowed him even further it was just a matter of time til that powerful Cotto left hook ended things. We didn't have to wait long.

Geale was dead of his feet at that weight you could see in his eyes and jaw line he was as dry as a stick , Sports dangerous enough without being dragged into that shizz

Yeah..... Geale was dry as a bone
    in the opening RDS...undoubtedly
But he knew it would take a few RDS to get going with the drain so it was on him to stay outside behind the jab.

He tried to use his size to early and it cost him.

See I agree with everyone about the catch weight but I think Cotto is getting unfairly focused on. Thousands of fighters have made these demands and will do again.

But there are other extremes like fighters ballooning up 20 lbs. You can get in against a 'light middle weight' and be fighting a light heavy on the night. Surely that's a tad extreme too?

I don't know what the answer to all the problems are but Cotto, the money maker placing demands on Geale, the man lucky to be getting the payday isn't the worst thing in the world. 160lb title on the line or not

for world title fights they should be done at the usual limit, not cut to satisfy a massive diva
