Is anyone else surprised how quickly Joshua has moved up the ranking with the WBC?

Or does it just show how bad the heavyweight division is right now?

I have no doubt he will go far and will be a world champion but to be number 2 by the WBC after 13 fights against at best bums is shocking.:patsch:patsch:patsch

It is poor from the WBC but it is clever management from AJ's point of view.

Deontay Wilder got to no.1 in WBC by fighting bums and got a shot at Stiverne so this is no surprise.

Everything that's wrong with heavyweight boxing at the minute. How on earth can Joshua's opponents justify giving him such a lofty ranking?

It is just as bad as the ranking Windmiller received from the WBC. He hasn't even fought anyone in the top 50 yet.

Hes better than everyone else anyway

Nobody in that top 20 poses any sort of obstacle for him apart from maybe Povetkin and possibly Tony Thompson if he was 5 years younger

The rest of them will go the same way as Johnson - the fight will be over the moment the first punch lands.

Joshua doesn't **** around like Klitschko and clinch them after every right hand or left hook - he actually throws combinations like Klitschko did back in 2002. It seems as though Klitschko deliberately gives his opponents time to recover by clinching after hurting them. I actually think he was told by the TV company to not knock people out in 1 round after the fight with Ray Austin - ironically the last time Klitschko bothered to go in for the kill when his opponent was hurt.

The official rankings are always bull****. A lot of people complain that he's only fought bums only because of the hype he's had and scrutiny he's been put under, but if you look at who the other top heavyweights have beat recently to deserve give them high rankings they haven't done much better.

Sheeite admittedly but winning in 2 against nappypin is probably more than the rest of their current top 10 has accomplishedin the past year. Shocking state of affairs

Boxing rankings are a load of rubbish. Shannon Briggs ranked number 5 WBA says it all

Very poor from the WBC but not surprising considering how badly they have handled their belt recently. Letting Vitali hold onto it for well over a year, the second Stiverne Arreola fight for the title just after they fought purely because Arreola is Mexican and then Wilder getting the shot after fighting no one. Joke organisation, second worst after WBA.

I think it's a shame they have elevated him so quickly. He needs eliminator type fights against people in their rankings like Thompson, Pulev, Stiverne and Arreola, not handing and unwarranted and unprepared title shot.
