just seen the latest eddie hearn interview with IFL and eddie seemed pretty clear that carl is down to two options which is gennady golovkin or retirement . after his world title win james degale's name was thrown into the hat but that was never mentioned from the recent interview , maybe if he continues fighting he may fight someone we really dont expect , i dont see the ward rematch as likely , what do you guys think he will do ?
I'd like to see him face Degale. That could be a great fight! But I tell you something, and this is how clueless Eddie is, after how big Carl's profile in the build-up to Wembley and after (due to that finish), Carl hasn't fought in THIRTEEN MONTHS! Now Carl must take some of the blame for that, sure, but Eddie hasn't even tried to capitalise on that momentum. And that fight brought in a HELL OF A LOT of interest. And he is supposed to be a PROMOTER! He can't promote jack... Carl could have fought Degale AND GGG by now. Instead he sits out teasing the public about his options, and his promoter has run out of ideas as to what to do. Carl could have been twice as big as he is now in terms of popularity, but he's done nowt for over a year! I think that fight has edged Carl a LOT closer to retirement.
Hopkins.....MGM......Vegas .......would prob win, Hopkins wants the fight and is a big name even at 50 and froch gets his name in lights that he really wants... Snooze fest IMO but easy option.
That's like saying Mayweather is as big as he has ever been so he should fight for another 3 years, it doesn't work like that, Froch reached the top for a British boxer, Hearn cant force Froch to do anything and as much as I would love to see Froch fight again I cant blame him for retiring, he has had the toughest of careers, took all the big fights.
True, to an extent, But Floyd has been popular for MANY YEARS. Carl flew under the radar for a LONG TIME. Now he's 'made it', he's been inactive for nearly 14 months. Not exactly the smarts business idea after he has been in a fight of that magnitude, is it?
Again you make a decent point but I don't think you can blame Hearn, he was going to deliver Froch the Chavez fight he wanted and he got injured don't forget. After that it was all down to Froch wanting to do it or not and if you think Hearn is just going to give up on his biggest cash cow then you are mad. He would have been offering him a new fight in a new venue every day but it is down to Froch not having the desire anymore.
I wouldn't mind seeing how froch does at light heavy against hopkins, if he does well enough a fight with Sergey is mouth watering!
Easy win for Kovalev. Froch walks round at 168 he'd be giving too much away on fight night and would get stopped before half distance.
Why? Hopkins is a lose/lose situation. Win and you beat an old man. Lose and you beat an old man. Plus hardly anyone ever looks good against Hopkins.
Whatever he does I hope he never returns to that dancing show "Stepping Out", that was special  I hope Froch retires, he has done the lot, what else is there to do? He would be going out on huge fight, not sure if you know but he knocked out George Groves in front of 80,000 at Wembley.
I just went and watched Carl's dancing on YouTube and I've changed my mind, I think he has a shot as making it as a dancer.
That must have passed me by. :think He should fight Murray. Say goodbye in a summer fight at Notts Forest like he's always wanted. Easy enough win, Murray hardly an offensive genius so would be entertaining enough. Eddie can build up Murray as the man who defied GGG... for longer than anyone else anyway. Would be a nice end to his career.
& try making a statement of trying to stop Murray quicker than GGG? Nailed to be a 12 rounder though too tough lads! hope he boxes again, can't handle him being a pundit all the time its horrendous
Froch vs GGG - December - Vegas! Hard-on!! 10% chance itll happen i think. Hearn REALLY doesnt want him to fight again it seems.
