Discuss:think For me it's Mayweather, pretty obvious I know, but he ticks all the boxes even thought me may not be a freak like say RJJ or Tyson Gamboa is another one that springs to mind and Anthony Joshua
I think he's talking about the most athletic. For instance I'd say Zab was more athletic than Floyd when they fought but not as skilled or well conditioned.
I would consider the most athletic (for boxing purposes especially) to be the fighter with the best combo of power, speed and stamina.
I have Robinson as the greatest athlete in boxing history. But I have no problems with people saying it was Ali. His speed and stamina is incredible for a heavyweight. But plenty of heavyweights hit harder.
Eh, I don't consider stamina part of athleticism really. I consider athleticism to be natural. Certainly there is a natural component to stamina but you can train it much more so than you can power or speed IMO.
I agree completely that stamina is harder to train than power and speed. But they also say that talent is the most important thing in distance running. You'll never have great stamina by not running. But you'll never great stamina without naturally having good stamina either. You need both.
