Exactly, Joe C fans like to change history but in terms of fighting top 10 fighters in a row Carl beats Joe hands down. Does this mean Carl beat Joe....No, but its the truth and Joe C fans can't accept that. He had a chance to be an all time great and blew it...

People also say how poor Carl is in terms of boxing ability and if it wasn't for his chin he would be nowhere....... Joe C isn't the best boxer either and if it wasn't for his elite stamia where he could throw 2,000 punches a round where a lot misssed he would'nt have been as good either.

I am a big fan of G Groves and rate him highly. I picked Groves to beat Froch in the first fight, thinking providing Groves doesnt get caught, thinking he had good power and could trouble Froch.
Said that Groves may not be the same after a loss.

But, how was Groves as a British level fighter suddenly thought of as some major top SMW challenger to Frochs title. It was at a similar level to Calzaghes defence against Starie.
Big difference was that Froch was put down and given a tough fight. Had the 1st fight been like the 2nd, I doubt Groves would have been considered as big a win and opponent

Hope so. Im a fan of both, but do find that many havent watched SMW for a long time and know enough about some of the respective opposition well enough to comment

Im not wanting to fool anyone.
As said Im a fan of both, but with one, not many know the opponents because the division was not as well known, with the other, the division is more known and because of that opponents get more recognition.
Funny thing is the division is more known because of the one whos opponents were lesser known

As I always say, perception rules the day, and a hell of a lot of people think Calzaghe's resume is lacking.

Calzaghe beat three ATG's. Resume isn't even comparable.

Prime Froch wins against Prime C on cobles though.

It does depend when you fight the ATG......I'd fancy Tyson Fury's chances against Ali, does that make Tysons CV great !!!

I was a massive Calzaghe fan as I am with Froch, but facts are facts. People forget Joe also had choice to fight Froch or Manfredo, and he picked Manfredo. No one can say he deserved fight more than Froch. Carl has without doubt fought a higher calibre of opponent overall.

People can argue resumes all day long. Fact is nobody with sense would pick Froch to beat Joe Calzaghe. Joes all wrong for him style wise.

I don't think no one is disputing that...Joe would win because he had the energy to throw 100's punches per round and he also had a decent chin so he would have won a wide decision result.

Have no problems admitting that, but I have a problem with people trying make his CV better then it is. I'm sorry I think Froch in a row has fought better people .... but hey boxing is all about opinions

I know one thing JC had the chance to be a real great and he blew it, don't get me wrong he is a legend but he could have been ATG

Imagine both fighters at there peak having a swing up!
Take the calzaghe that fought Byron mitchell vs the froch that fought pascal and you've got the makings of a real tear up!

I like both fighters but I think calzaghe being a southpaw and his speed would have just edged it
