Great fighter. I wish I had been following him years before I did.

I wasn't a fan but the fact that all of the things you mention and he wasn't great at them but dominated a division for so long probably does make him great.he tried to make fights with all of the top names in his prime but they wouldn't fight him.hopkins was a done deal then he more or less doubled his demands,in other words backed out.he was in sort of a catch 22 because he was low key in America so there wasn't a clamour for jones and Hopkins to fight him so they looked at him as high risk low reward and got payed well for fighting lesser opposition.off the top of my head I don't think there is any fighter he avoided hence the flack he gets for not fighting big names I think is unfair.his Kessler win was a very solid win versus that kessler and considering what Hopkins has achieved since I don't think u can disrespect that win.he beat everyone he fought,a lot of dodgy opponents but plenty of solid ones too so he deserves respect for sure

not that great. he only fought legitimate names when they were old and he still has advantage in speed like floyd. they took advantage of their styles and preserved their bodies thus avoiding greatness.

Calzaghe said to this day it was the hardest fight he ever had, his introduction into world class boxing

I wished that Calzaghe would have fought Pavlik instead of Jones. He could have gotten the credit for destroying Pavlik.
