    Revisionism in its worst form.

No, evasion from the facts is.

Again, you folks refuse to acknowledge the fact that at the time of the Mathis bout, Frazier had KO'd as many opponents with his right as with his left. And furthermore, he was brutalizing Mathis with his right.

It saddens me that those who are entrusted with carrying on the history of the sport prefer to hide in untruths that support their nostalgia based narratives.

The thread is about Marciano and Ali. Frazier's right hand or left testicle is irrelevant.
I believe Marciano would beat Ali. Marciano had an intangible ability to do whatever necessary to win.
I would not put hard money on this fight, but I predict Marciano.

It is relevant because some contended that Marciano was a two-handed Frazier... who they contend was a one-handed fighter.

Marciano's intangibles were never tested against a fighter near as great as a prime Ali. I'm not sure how far one would want to bet on tangibles at that point.

I'd pick Ali. Bigger and faster, probably stronger, has the chin to survive Rocky.

I am honestly not sure that any of those factors, would have been fight winners here!

Perhaps not, but the absence of at least two of them would be fight losers.

Bigger and faster, yes. Stronger? Unlikely. Marciano 88% KO rate vs Ali 61%. Brutal permanent damage to a number of opponents. You take the Rock lightly and he'll feed you the L. This may be what would trip Ali up.

    That's power, not strength.

But Ali's strength was very much balance dependant. Hence the probably.

    Not necessarily.

The most useless swarmer who could get into the rankings, seems to have over performed against Ali!

I mean the absence of chin and speed would cause Ali to lose the fight.

Also, while your observation might be fair, Ali performed superbly past-prime three times against an absolutely exceptional HW swarmer in Frazier. He was brilliant in those fights.

Semantics. If your implying that Ali would resort to clinching, bad idea. If he plans to shove Marciano away, I don't think that would fly in the 50's. If I'm misreading you here, please elucidate.

...this isn't even a little bit true. Power and strength are just different.

It's obvious there would be clinching. In the clinch, strength is the crucial factor. If Ali is stronger he'll have a much easier time of it than if he isn't.

    Why?

Hard to tie Rocky up in the clinch, plus refs usually let them fight out of them, dangerous move for Ali. Shoving wasn't seen much and Marciano's awkward style makes it difficult, I think.
