I mean i wouldn't be shocked one bit if Lara decisions Floyd in a close one. He is much younger, bigger and possibly even faster with superior reflexes at this point in time. But what i saw from him in the Canelo and Angulo fight did not impress me. I expected him to completely toy with Angulo as most did but he went life and death with him. And Angulo is a slow, plodding caveman. And given his superior speed and supposedly skill over Canelo, he hardly fought like he was in a big fight.

True. But who does that better than Floyd? This fight would obviously be fought on the outside with very little risk taken from either side. Low output fight. Don't you think Floyd would be better?

Not too sure about that. In simple terms of reflexes, quickness and low contact boxing Lara is one of the very best. As good as Floyd even IMO.

Lara's issues stem from people who can pressure him into mistakes with power, aggression and high contact style - or simply outwork him. Thats a deficiency Floyd does not have, at least to nowhere the same degree (he struggled a bit with Maidana, probably closest ****ogy to Lara's Angulo)

Floyd deals with that much better, and is overall a much more complete fighter.

But H2H I think Lara is a problem, because of his attributes in a low contact match, and because Lara wont be giving Floyd a lot to work with in terms of exploitable offense that he can easily time and counter.

I can't disagree with that. Like i said, i wouldn't be shocked if Lara squeezed out a close one. But i still favor Floyd.

First the fight will never happen. Floyd hasnt fought a true boxer since when? I think its an interesting fight because it be a purists dream. to highly skilled boxers matching wits would be absolutely fun to watch. That being said i think floyd wins because hes more dynamic. Lara is 1,2 1,2. Floyd really changes things up and is smart enough to figure Lara out rather quickly. Id really love to see this fight and it could EASILY BE MADE if Floyd wanted it. Infact i think itd be floyds best bet for Sept.

Wouldn't draw too well, but I wouldn't mind seeing how it would play out.

Fair enough, Floyd is pretty good. I bet it would be a fairly low contact affair, with many close rounds and scores all over the board.

I guess my primary point is, unlike Khan or Garcia or other names being bandied about for Floyd... at least Lara would actually have a realistic chance of winning. (I think Khan gets stopped and Garcia humiliated)

Which IMO makes for a more interesting match.

We've seen what happens when a very good technical boxer fights the Master boxer. Would be the same story again.

I am with you on this one . The rules are very strange at the moment .One guy can play amateur computer boxing. Anyone else tries it they lose.

It will be a hell of a boxing match, but id rather see GGG take the challenge and test his skills against Lara..

I think it would turn out to be a close snoozer with Floyd getting the maybe undeserved nod.
