Firstly I was a big fan of his during his boxing career and he gave us all some great nights of entertainment. Now to his latest book ' Vegas Tales' , ahh , this is just so bad and is pretty much the 'War and Peace' book but with a couple of celebrity bits that weren't really necessary. I don't think I have ever come across a fighter who has blamed all of his either poor performances or defeats on everyone but himself. Here goes. Collazo - HBO made me fight him and with little preparation. it is known that Collazo had three weeks of training for the fight. Urango - Got the Flu from air-conditioning at the hotel , then didn't realize until the day before that he was wearing 10oz gloves rather than 8oz. Gets 10oz gloves but are for bigger hands. Mayweather - Cortez , Cortez and more Cortez. Pacquaio - Snr , Snr and more Snr. Now if Ricky had actually kept the weight off between fights and learnt how to throw a jab then maybe just maybe we would be taking about Ricky in a different manner. Peace.
Great post. I'm not a fan of the guy. Somewhere along the line he has also managed to con half of the UK into thinking the Mayweather fight was close. Fair play to him - he brought it, although I saw a one sided beatdown. The irony is that he is 'a man of the people', yet put the Senchenko on PPV. People moan at Hearn but coming off a 3.5 year absence to fight a guy that Malignaggi stopped and charging £10/£15 was a total liberty.
God I hope SKY don't make a f*cking 'special' on it like they do every other month on him. Yeah, 'man of the people', and he's worth £20 odd mill? Haha, laughable.
A lot of fighters can't take the truth of a loss, some can admit the other guy was the better man and that was the main reason for it, some can't and move the heights of each factor around.
Man of the people ppffftttt went to a night with him and calzaghe one was happy to get photos and sign them, the other charged 20 quid a pop.
Considering he earned that money himself with hard work, I would have to disagree with you. Money, or lack of, does not make you a man of the people.
Complete lies never has Ricky charged for photos and as for not being a man of the people because your financially successful is a silly statement stop hating
I had a photo with him at an evening with him and it cost me £20. Not sure how much he saw of that though as it was some fella taking them.
Honestly thought he massively wasted his talents by his antics between fights, thankfully he seems to be preaching to his fighters not to do that
