Forget all the politics and who's a real World champ etc.. Haskins had an opportunity to capture a World title- he now holds the interim belt and should Caballero not be able to fight anytime in the near future he is elevated to World champ. Or at least will fight Caballero for the actual belt if he returns from injury!! Great performance- worthy of world champ status!!

Agreed think Haskins is so talented glad he gets his chance of winning a proper world title in his next fight.

The case of Haskins is much more logical than many of the others. Caballero is out so in essence the title is vacant and so the top 2 challengers fought for it. When caballero comes back he and Haskins have to fight to see who is the top champ. This Interim title is actually the most correct use of the word. But I agree that Caballero should have been stripped to avoid confusion

More the media causing this than the boxers.

Well yes but that's because UFC is the organisation with the monopoly on MMA, so of course they will have one champ in each division. UFC is the organisation, not the sport

We have more than one champ per division, yet OP is still right, none of the fighters he mentioned are world champions.

All credit too them, and they sure have the talent to get there, but they ain't yet. The British media just love to promote a 'world champion', it sells tickets.

Good performance but winning an interim title doesn't make you a World champ.
WBA regular titles are arguable but interim is definitely not.

Neither Haskins, Eubank jr or Derry Matthews can claim to be world champions, but it gets them one step closer.
