Do you consider Erislandy Lara to be an "elite fighter"?

All three of those guys may have possibly beat him, I don't know. I am not ready to say that Golovkin can't be defeated based on his competition to date. How good you look depends a lot on your level of competition. If Golovkin still looks like the grim reaper fighting "A" level competition then I will call him elite but I can't jump on that wagon just yet for having a win over Martin Murray.

How the hell is he supposed to fight A-Level competition when the A-level competition refuse to fight him based on his skills?

Lara said he would fight him. If the money is right, he will get other fighters to face him. The more even the "risk/reward" relationship, the easier it is to get fights.

No, and it baffles me why he has this bizarre cult following.

If they ever meet at 160lbs and GGG "dominates him" I'm going to remind you of this debate accordingly.

I'll go out on a limb here and say GGG brutally knocks out Lara within 6rds.

Canelo had success vs Lara at a lower weight. Hahaha

    GGG would brutalise him.
    GGG is faster than Canelo
    Has a better ring I.Q.
Cuts of the ring much better
He also hits harder and more accurate

Lara has a glass chin, its why he refuses to "fight"
GGG will expose him very badly.

Maybe but Lara would still be better than anyone he has faced to date.

This! If he was truly elite, he would have certainly stopped the overmatched, 35 year old Delvin Rodriguez.

You are the reason why boxing fans are seen more stupid than other sports. Your arguments are not making any sense what so ever. Please stop.

I am guessing he meant Canelo and Tall Paul. Both of which he technically lost. The Canelo fight was pretty close but I thought Lara won by a few rounds (but who cares) and the Williams fight was just a straight up robbery. Not sure who the third elite is, I wouldn't imagine he meant Trout, Angulo, or Molina (though those are all pretty good scalps)

If Alvarez and Williams were considered to be elite, then I guess I could see why Lara would be considered to be elite also.

Lara isn't very good. He has only ever truly impressed me one time and that was against Paul Williams. Everything he does is predicated on his straight left hand. He doesn't body punch, he is not a combination puncher. He is a mover for the sake of moving and not for setting up any kind of offense. Basically, he prefers the path of least resistance. He still makes the same mistakes and is a rinse and repeat fighter. He is NOT a smart fighter. GGG would catch him with a left hook just like Angulo did, only Lara probably wouldn't get up from it. And if he did, GGG is a pretty damn good finisher.
