    This is brilliant target marketing at play.

    Putting Mr. Ward on BET is the quickest way to endear him to legions of suburban Caucasian teenagers, who will instantly latch on and convince their parents to purchase them plenty of Mr. Ward's goods to maintain urban credibility, which is critical when the directions to their homes include phrases such as "pull in to the cul-de-sac".

    Having him fight a translucent fighter like Mr. Smith will also make Mr. Ward appear significantly darker, and thus possessing much more authenticity. These are professional marketers at work doing it wisely.
