Wladimir Klitschko vs Joe Frazier -- you know this is gonna be divided.

Depends on the ref if it's tony Perez frazier is in trouble and if it's a british ref wlad fans may be able to scream premature stoppage . I'm not sure frazier was in top shape for bugner also in these match-ups don't we usually take each fighter to be at his optimum performance level so that wouldn't be the frazier of the bugner fight .

 

Frazier was in excellent shape for Bugner, he came in at 208lbs ,8 lbs lighter than he had been for Foreman.

After his bout with Ali it was not the same Frazier. Prime Frazier is what we are talking about.

Most of Fraziers "ko 's found his victims on their feet at the time of the stoppage , the notion that he only has to connect with his hook and Wlad folds is erroneous.
He beat on Mathis allnight, and couldn't floor Bonavena in two fights,

 

obviously wlad does not have bonavenas chin, in fact he has the opposite of it.

 

208 is a pretty good weight weight for frazier but only those in camp really know if a boxer has worked hard enough to be in proper shape . I really think steward may think to change wlad's style for this fight trying to get wlad to come forward jabbing hard to frazier's head/chest and pushing frazier back in a foreman type style it makes sense as it's a style nightmare for frazier

 

Fraziers ability to punch very hard with his hook is not in doubt. Chuvalo stated Fraziers punches were like being hit by a Mac truck going 60 mph. That's very hard. One blow by Joe shattered Chuvalos eye socket ending the bout. Norton who sparred with Frazier attested to his power. Wlad can't take a good punch to the chin and this is why one solid hook could easily end the bout. Wlad holds and clinches as he does for fear a solid blow will land! Big guy but so very weak where it counts in boxing. TOUGH is not in his makeup.

 

Frazier might have been tougher than Wlad but raw toughness isn't going to decide this. Joe is out of his league in size and boxing ability. Whenever he tries to get close, he gets tied up.. Whenever he's on the outside, he gets peppered with jabs and right crosses.. Being the much smaller man, the work rate he'd have to put forth would be exhausting and would wear on him as the fight progressed as would the accumulation of punches he'd be taking. Those ripping left hooks would also lose some of their power when being fully extended and trying to reach a man who has 7 inches on him.. I can't see this ending in any other way but a stoppage win for Klitschko.

 

I pick the true ATG vs the fake ATG. No heart, no chin, no win.

 

Wlad has a ton of heart. There is not such thing as a fake ATG who makes the hall of fame and rules his weight for 10 years.

By the way, Frazier's chin was suspect vs punchers too.

Bonavena was dropped 3 times and ko'd byAli,not a big hitter.Dropped by Zora Folley and dropped twice by Jimmy Ellis. George Chuvalo he wasn't!

 

The UK referee Harry Gibbs scored it 59¼ points for Frazier and 58½ for Bugner. Under the British scoring system, the winner of a round receives 5 points and the loser 4¾. A crazy way of scoring things...

Wining by 3 points in a 12 round fight under the ten point must system is somewhat close. Say 116-113.

Wlad would beat Bugner by a much larger margin.
