As you all know I'm a massive Tyson fan and I'm pretty impressed at Tyson's ability to take single shots, he walked through bombs from the likes of Lennox Lewis and Donovan Ruddock but Tyson could be hurt early on as seen in the 2nd round of the first Holyfield fight. Which fighter in history knocks him out earliest? IMO the Foreman who knocked out Frazier gets Tyson out of there inside 4 rounds, those uppercuts would cause devastation and Foremans strength and man handling would set the punches up. What about Sonny Liston?? He feasted on the closest imitation of Tyson in Patterson albeit a more fragile copy, did The Big Bear own Cus's peek-a-boo style??
at his best and of sound mind, and without sedative type meds either... he might be the absolute best HW of all-time. now, knowing what we know, he, Tyson, like ANY fighter can be beaten, will be beaten and does lose some... So many of the strong willed, granite chin and physically strong BOXERS, themselves with KO punch power 'could' beat him. Joe Louis Ali lesser chance, though possible, just like Douglas would be JJW, Charles punchers and fighters, Dempsey, Marciano, Forman giants LL, Big Klit, though at his best, NO. point is at his absolute best, it would likely be a blank list!
Prime Foreman might have the best chance but in a shootout Tyson at his peak might get to him first. Tyson had problems with big strong fellas who didn't want to get involved in a fight not fellas who came looking for him.
I think it would be a mistake to try and take Mike out quickly he was a fast starter and had 2-fisted power. I have seen some suggestions that Foreman could do it and George had the power but what 2-fisted elite puncher did George ever take out. Tyson started to slow down a bit after rd 7 but could still hurt you as the steam started to fizzle, a prime Foreman had less stamina I think it would have to be an awkward style and if someone hurt him early Tyson would be less careless and aggressive. That being said you would have to wait until he was ripe for the picking and im thinking 8-9-10th 11 rd you could start to press and pressure him. To try and take him out quickly you would have to exchange and go for it but with that comes trading punches and that could be highly dangerous
Hahahha, not even a prime lewis throwing the kitchen sink could take out the useless worn out corpse of Tyson in 10, let alone peak prime. No one takes a motivated, young , hungry Tyson early and trying to do so would be suicide. Having said that, I'd only give a physicaly prime George Foreman a shot. Old man Foreman is a sitting duck
This might sound silly to some but i think either Muhammed Ali or George Foreman. Ali's all wrong for the guy but some are convinced a prime Tyson would dispose of Ali comfortably. Foreman would beat Tyson even though Tyson has better lateral movement than Frazier and to be honest i doubt it would be that quick but he could possibly do it. A prime Ali would beat a prime Tyson. That speed is all wrong for even a prime Tyson.
Tyson was a tough buggar!!!! He took absolute beatdowns from Douglas and Holyfield before succumbing. Outside of Foreman and Liston at their ruthless best, I suspect the only others with a chance to stop Mike early would be guys Id actually pick Mike to beat 9/10 times. Maybe a Tua or Marciano can win a shootout, maybe a Lyle or Shavers can land from range before Mike gets into his mid-range distance. The dark horse would be Bowe. He could possibly land that clubbing overhand right from outside or even those ripping uppercut, left hook combos inside. Louis and Lewis both have the artillery to do the job, but there is no way they will get into a firefight with Tyson when there are better avenues for them to win
