    Liakhovich and Stiverne. I highly doubt I would pick Fraudley Harrison to KO him! :lol: I might've said Scott had a shot at it.

    But the reality is that has more to do with over-estimating the opponents than under-estimating Wilder. Liakhovich was more shot than I imagined, and Stiverne just simply wasn't as good as the Arreola fights indicated (plus he was apparently quite sick).

    Its quit ironic that Wilder now hopes to match Arreola. A guy who was KTFO'd twice by Stiverne. Who Wilder already beat! LOL This is so handpicked its not even funny anymore.

    I think Wilder's big reveal that his chin wasn't the total dog dung most of us thought it was came in the Stiverne fight. But adding Povetkin would certainly be a noteworthy victory for Deontay, and one I assume most people here would give him tremendous credit for winning given the generally high regard people have for Povetkin around here.

    That said, I think Wilder is going to hold off on a Povetkin fight for awhile, and I believe the WBC will play ball and allow him great leeway in whatever his decisions are regarding a career path.

    Just my opinion.

    Didn't the first Arreola-Stiverne fight go 12? I know there was a KD in the first fight, but I thought it ran the distance?

    In any case, Arreola could wind up being a tougher opponent for Wilder than Stiverne was. Chris is far more offensively oriented in his approach. That worked against Chris when he faced Stiverne, but it could maybe work in his favor against Wilder.

    It did go the distance, and people also tend to forget Chris was winning virtually every round of the rematch up until the KO.

    I don't remember the first fight well, except I remember thinking Arreola lost and remember being surprised he was dropped some time early, if I recall. But I don't remember him looking terrible, either. Just not particularly good or sharp.

    I was thinking on Sat night -- if it was Arreola in there that night with Wilder, had he buzzed him like Molina did Arreola would have had the skill and killer instinct to finish the job.

    So yes, is Arreola more dangerous an opponent than Molina? Yes. Is he handpicked like hell (coming off KO losses, shot to pieces, but big latino following for TV interest and ticket sales)? Yes. I know we can't blame Wilder, he's smart if he cares about his bank account and family first and foremost, and fans second.

    But a hand pick is a hand pick. Let's call it how it is.

    I meant that Arreola could be more dangerous for Wilder than Stiverne was, even though Stiverne beat Arreola twice.

    In any case, when did I say Molina was anything more than a hand pick? I stated he was viewed as a "soft touch", "undeserving of a title bout" and referred to him as "lightly regarded".

    Povetkin is not Ivan Drago. I don't think he will be able to get inside to land anything and will likely look rather impotent against Wilder.

    I had a horrible norovirus when I watched the first fight and I was still shellshocked from the bad Martinez performance against Murray, but I remember it went the distance Arreola got his nose busted and generally looked slow but didn't perform that badly, the rematch Arreola looked pretty good, pressuring Bermane well and landing a ton of shots on him, most landed on Bermane's shoulders or arms but Arreola had a good workrate until he got caught, if Wilder picks Arreola for his next opponent it wouldn't shock me at all if it ended up being Arreola-Mitchell 2, Deontay should avoid Chris and go with TT.
