With all the talk, it sounds like Martinez was a huge underdog . Martinez was the favorite, Cotto beat the sh!t out of him, and Cotto showed Martinez wasn't in his league.

This is the same talk about Cotto not fighting a legit middleweight. Something about any middleweight beats Cotto. Cotto just got through destroying Geale.

Disagree on Rubio and Stevens. I think Eubank and BJS would both have a better shot.

Why would you disagree on Rubio, you do realize he's 6'1, in spite of what Boxrec says. that's a 6 inch height advantage, he has 51 KO's he'd get to Cotto eventually and stop him.

You shouldn't let your hate of a fighter cloud your judgement so badly. Some of these suggestions are plain ridiculous.

I don't think Rubio's chin and stamina are at the same ridiculous level Marg's were. I can see Cotto avoiding and outboxing him.

Imagine a HW would set a weight limit of 230 lbs for his opponents. How credible a HW would he be? LOL

Cotto is a JOKE. Nothing else.

Yes they are, you don't eat bombs from Lemieux and Kelly Pavlik and go to war for12 grueling rounds without gassing against Chavez Jr if you don't have a good chin and good stamina.

That was a weird top of the head shot he took from GGG the Cotto would be incapable of landing, Rubio could have continued but he clearly threw the fight. Watch more Rubio and you'll see just hiow good he can be when he wants to be.

I've watched plenty of Rubio and I never said he didn't have a good chin or stamina. But there's good chins and stamina and then there's Margarito levels of chin and stamina :deal

No they're completely logical. Cotto defeated a shot fighter in Martinez and Geale who was one of GGG's easiest wins and he had to drain him to a zombie and viciously headbutt him to accomplish his hollow win over him.

Most fit undrained MW's stop Cotto. There's a reason he picked the most featherfiste MW he could find in Geale, because Cotto's chin is still weak as hell. Floyd almost stopped him for God sakes,

It good enough to wear down Cotto, and a massive Rubio with 51 KO's most likely hits waaaaaaaaaaaay harder the Margarito as well.

:conf He rubs me the wrong way. Just don't like him. He's a whiner and a punk who looks for every way possible to get everything going his way, he is like Martinez said a Diva.

    This is true.

What you're missing is that Martinez had two unsuccessful knee surgeries prior to his Cotto fight and was totally wrecked as a fighter.

Do you think for an instant that the Martinez who KO'd Williams, shut out JCC Junior, and Bloodied Pavlik would have the slightest problem with a little fella like Cotto ?

That's what I meant by the 'gamble' bit.

Cotto did not know till fight night whether or not he would be facing a Martinez who was healthy enough to beat him.

He rolled the dice and he won.
