He's on record about talking about his bulking in detail in mate. They were considering having him go down to CW, not a hard weight to make for him but decided to bulk him up.

He needed more learning fights really anyway. I don't know about you but I was hoping for Williams Hide back in the day.

I don't think there was much to choose between the caibre of their respective opposition at that time. I think, both at their best its a great fight .I lean towards Lewis because he is the more proven fighter imo. But, I would not be betting on it. Bowe should have been so much more, but lacked the self discipline .

In the immortal words of Foxy. Roger Mayweather like his brother is subhuman crack head scum, and only listened to by morons.

I have seen Lennox Lewis more times at Upton Park than you have on film, never mind how long I have watched him fight.

For you to suggest that Lewis choosing to fight Mercer the way he did means he would be forced to fight Bowe in the same way, merely proves you belong in the category described above with regards to taking Roger Mayweather seriously.

Of the whole Mayweather family, one might, and I repeat just might take the utterances of Jeff Mayweather with more than a pinch of salt.

It's Lennox Lewis who is vastly overrated. He never looked spectacular against anyone of merit besides razor ruddock who was washed up when they fought. Lewis gets credit for beating down vitali and making him stop but Bowe gets no credit for fighting hard and making golota quit. Bowe was far more washed then Lewis too.
Lewis was a great fighter but he should be ranked behind Bowe holy and Tysonn actual ability. He was never fully a complete fighter and that's why he adopted that holding style.

Apart from getting the results wrong. Golota was DQ'd twice. Do you even realise Bowe was behind on all 3 cards in both fights. And please don't say he was getting back into the fights. He wasn't.

I'd take Lewis over Bowe anyday. Not to say Bowe wouldn't make a fight of it, because he would, but Lewis is more proven, and probably better technically. Bowe could have a chance if he managed to engage Lewis in a sloppy brawl, where his chin might well carry him through. Otherwise, no.

And why was Golota DQ'd? Did he just decide to quit or was getting frustrated becuase Bowe kept hitting him in the face even though he was kicking his butt? Golota was winning but his spirit was lost so he quit, twice and lost both fights!

There is more truth in the superman comics you still obviously read than the above nonsense. If anyone wanted to quit it was the gutless Bowe going down from fantasy low blows. Another piece of sh it like his New York counterpart Tyson, good at dishing out fouls, but cries like a stuck pig, when taking them. :hi:

Maybe, if Futch gets to lace a pair up at the same time, and even then its not a given.

I don't think the Bowe of the Golota fights would have any shot at beating Lewis. Bowe was basically a punching bag in those fights. He showed a lot of heart to last long enough for Golota to be DQ'd but he looked shot, especially in the second fight.

If Bowe was to beat Lewis, it would have to be the 1992-1995 version of Bowe.

I agree but often people say Bowe lost to Golota twice. No he won those fights. Noone says Lewis lost to Klitschko and he was getting his ass kicked too. I do agree with the timing of your post. Bowe was last seen as a real fighter at the Gonzalez fight. After that it was pretty much over for him.

True and you never hear people saying Grant lost to Golota even though Golota had Grant out on his feet worse than he ever had Bowe.

And Bowe never took Golota seriously , Grant did.

Golota had his undefeated record on the line against Bowe. He quit for a reason.
Prime Bowe with Futch was near unbeatable. Sure Holyfield beat him in that period but it was extremely close. Plus a guy came into the ring mid fight on a hovercraft ffs. Without hindrance- it may have been 3-0 to Bowe.

Are you sure you actually watched this fight. I just read another post who said after watching it again he was surprised to see that Lewis was walking through Vitali's punches and in the 6th round, Lewis clearly rocked Vitali in the last 20 seconds, forcing him to hold on for dear life, never mind the uppercut from hell he landed on Vitali earlier.

You really need to watch this fight again because you don't know wtf you're talking about.
