Undefeated Mian Hussain !2-0 6KO) scored a rather pedestrian unanimous decision over Ivan Pereyra 919-5 13KO) where the only suspense was the fate of the Mexican’s trunks and whether they would survive all eight rounds–they did, by a thread. Hussain won every round for a 80-72 decision but the crushed teal velvet trunks of Pereyra was coming apart at the seams and the Mexican fighter was a mess of duct tape and hope by the final stanza. Hussain landed solidly throughout and was never in trouble but looked as if he got buzzed a bit to end the 7th but came back strong for the final round.

Super-lightweight Ghislain Maduma (17-1 11KO) came back from his only career defeat just over a year ago in London England and overwhelmed Michele Focosi (20-4-2 8KO) with three second knockdowns to cement a second round TKO victory at a time of :52 seconds. Maduma took down the visiting Italian fighter with a right hand early in the round and was relentless in sealing the deal quickly with another pair to overwhelm his opponent.

Things got off to an exciting start at The Bell Centre in Montreal in advance of the Lemieux-N’Dam IBF middleweight bout with undefeated Ayaz Hussain (6-0 4KO) scoring a 2nd round TKO victory via the three knockdown rule over Miguel Antoine (17-3-1 9KO) of Barbados, official time 1:50. After a very competitive first round where both boxers landed with clean shots, Hussain took control in the second. After missing with a wide right hand, Antoine was greeted with a pair of right hands right on the chin that put the visitor to his knees for a count of eight. Welterweight Hussain took quick control took quick control from there, scoring a pair of subsequent knockdowns for the victory.

Undefeated light-middleweight Steven Butler (12-0-1) scored knockdowns in the first two rounds and hung on for the next six rounds against a game and determined Jaime Herrera (12-3-1 7KO) to score a 75-75, 75-75 74-77 majority draw, the first blemish on the Montreal nineteen year-old’s record. Butler looked to be in for the fight of his life from the very beginning as Herrera gave him all he could handle in the opening round before a counter right hand put the Illinois fighter down to the canvas. Butler managed another take down as the second ended but saw fatigue set in and his opponent take over for mush of the remaining six rounds. From that point it was Herrera pushing the pace and landing the more significant blows. A wild final round had the visitor connecting and both fighters tumbling down to the canvas just as the final bell sounded.

Super-lightweight Mathieu Germain (2-0) managed his second victory in as many outings with a TKO victory at 2:14 of the second round, handing Richard Horvath his first defeat and evening the Hungarian’s record at 1-1. Bout belonged to Germain who managed to corner his opponent and didn’t let up until Horvath was down and the referee called it a nigh

Jean vs Belmontes is intriguing to me. But on the whole, the card leaves me a bit cold.

I'm rooting for N'Dam but i feel he's gonna go down multiple times and lose a wide UD but hopefully i'm wrong and he boxes circles around him.

There's something about Lemieux i don't like. Maybe it's his haircut, lol.

 

N'Mr. N'Dam N'Jikam by N'UD is my call. I'm still not sold on Mr. Lemieux at this level, though his resurgence has been commendable.

 

Maybe even though i'm hotter than him... lol


I dunno it's like he cuts his hair to hide his receeding hairline. It's tragic.


He might get stopped as he's vulnerable and lost to lesser men than N'Dam but N'Dam has no power. Just decent accuracy with his punches.

 

IB, should I go with my gut and throw 200-300 on N'Dam? Don't see how he loses this one. :think

 

IB has said in an other thread that he thought N'Dam would win. It just shows you that he DKSAB.

I think N'Dam will win (but I cheer for Lemieux).
