The Blackledge situation was terrible.. I've no clue why he left wazza, after signing for the fight.. Not only signing, tickets were sold & pressers done - everything. Then he moaned for so long about the board not approving any potential opponents... Terrible all round. Poor kid Blackledge thought he'd got the biggest fight of his career only for it to be pulled a week before.

 

Yeah I have Callum beating rocky, rocky is a weird one in terms to his ceiling, can see him fighting for a world title at some point (especially looking at those who have in the past year or two), wouldn't be shocked if he lost to Callum and moved up to LHW (as Callum surely will at some point)

Looks obvious Paul is in the 'cashout' phase in his career, don't blame him personally so a decent offer as a chief support at the echo to close out his career to fight rocky would make sense tbh

 

One of those proposed opponents was tobias Webb who Callum destroyed - must have been some kind of extension to the contract as it made no sense for him to do that so close to the fight, can only think something like Hearn promised him a world title shot with his WBO ranking (which tbh wazza could also have done as it's always been his organisation of choice)

 

Yeh your right Wazza could of delivered him a world shot, no problem. Just look at Buglioni, Mathews etc...

Smith is just getting his final big pay days in now I feel. Fair play , seize the moment & give your family the life!

Fielding will come unstuck against Vera I feel, then I'd actually like to see him in with Blackledge again, for the British (if callum decides he's sticking to the WBC route)

Blackledge was soundly beat first time round, but as many know he took it at 48 hrs notice & had never boxed on a TV show, was visibly fazed by it all ... And his improvements since then, well he's been doing it all the right way . Give him a full camp to prepare & you've a very good competitive domestic fight....
