The kid has talent and imho we`re only seeing less than half of what AB can be. If AB wants to turn his career around from being a C level fighter which right now he is to become an A level star he needs to do 3 things. 1. Grow up and stop acting like a bafoon. Youre disrespecting yourself, opponents, the sport and your race. Someone needs to tell him hes not playing the villain hes playing and unfunny, obnoxious court jester. 2. Get it in shape ALL YEAR ROUND. In other words stop playing and dedicate yourself. Enough of the party scene and keep your bloated a$$ in the gym. 3. Stop trying to be Floyd!!! Physically hes just not built to fight like Floyd. Broner is built like a tank and thus should fight as such. Sure he could still use the shoulder roll but he needs to be more James Toney not Floyd Mayweather. Broner does these three things and he could turn his career around. It really sucks seeing such a waste of talent.
The surprising problem is...NO CONFIDENCE. The guy has every bit of athleticism in the book , but he doesn't let punches go. He's afraid to get knocked out. All the bragging and boasting is just a mask, the guy doesn't think he can do it.
If hes afraid then hes in the wrong business. Thats something else about him that i didnt mention that your basically saying and that is Broner doesnt have that fighters mentality. Hes too worried about looking good then he is about being a "fighter".
I can agree and disagree on this...I honestly don't think he's afraid but we're seeing him fight better (and heavier) competition than when he was at lightweight. He still throws his hands with bad intentions (when he lets them go) but doesn't have the skill set to adapt to any situation, hence all of the holding and fouls tonight. Can't rely just on a counter left hook for everything an opponent throws. But you're right, he should just wolf for a while and get down and dirty. He ain't Ali.
Needs to add creativity to his attack. Always counters with the left hook. And he needs to stop leaning back to avoid shots and use his feet
