How can PBC haters consider themselves boxing fans?

Anytime I read someone hoping PBC fails I cringe. How can you dislike boxing on prime time television? How can you not want Al Haymon to be sucessful? How is PBC not a good thing for boxing?? The match-ups have been fairly good no real special match ups yet but with what we're getting I'd imagine bigger fights are on the horizon.

    Why hate PBC?

I dont particularly hope it fails, though I do hope they lighten up on the UFC model. At least they work with Matchroom, and those fights arent bad.

I believe it's because of Al Haymon. For whatever reasons (I have my suspicions), people hate the dude.

Al Haymon is corrupt and will do anything to have the guy who makes more money win the fight. That's why everything was stacked in Broner's favor last night. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. Broner is such a hype job that nothing can help him.

Where else can I watch these guys on TV:

    Degale
    Brook
    Frampton soon

People need to stop hating. Haymon is no worse than any other agent out there. If PBC makes it, boxing will be a relevant sport again in the USA. Besides, he's bringing in boxers from all over the world.

They are not boxing fans. And some of them handle emotions like little girls. Is all hate by association. They hate Floyd, who deals with Harmon which has Broner(who most everyone hates) and Garcia who beat up Khan senseless... And so on.
We have been complaining for the longest about boxing not being on major networks for free and now that we have it, some still find a way to complain.

Is that why 1 judge only gave Broner 1 round?

I agree with you about global. It's good for boxing. Even Haymon knows it. That's why he brings in foreign talent.

I don't have a problem with pbc just at certain times mismatches are made.

So far though there's been some good fights on paper but perhaps have been dull affairs.

I mean Wilder vs Molina was a mismatch no real need for it but it was Wilder's first defence i guess. He should've been put in with a guy better than Eric Molina, though.

I have no issue with boxing being on free tv and i don't think Al Haymon should be hated as much as he is.

He's no worse than DLH, Arum, Hearn, Don King, or ******. In that case he may be just shady but aren't all promoters shady at times. It's part and parcel of promoting i guess.

Boxing on free tv is good news but perhaps changes may need to be made with the actual presentation.

I also hope they don't create their own belts as it would just make it seem very corny and not very legitimate in the slightest.

Overall though it's good news for the boxing fan. Maybe not good news for rival promoters but they will always have money to be made from fighters regardless. Whether what he does is bending the rules he's putting boxing on free tv so it doesn't matter.

The only way it can work is a good circulation of fighters and there's more boxing on now than ever so it's all good to me.

My biggest problem with it is that the matches seem so random and not things people really want to see. For example they have done/ are doing:

    Porter v Broner
    Thurman v Collozo
    Garcia v Malignaggi

    Why not instead do:

Porter v Thurman in a legit 147 fight
Garcia v Broner which could take place at 140 or catchweight and do big numbers
Malignaggi v Collozo in a loser leaves town fight in Brooklyn.

A problem with the fights is the winner gains little and the loser loses a lot. For example, Porter didn't become a big star yesterday, Broner just had his creditability damaged further still.

And Barthlemey quite possibly had a career best win tonight...but does anybody care or will they just not take DeMarco seriously ever again?

Of all the fights listed by PBC there isn't one I'm looking forward to.

Wow, are you seriously so brainwashed that you honestly think its a good thing when only one judge has the score correct and wasn't bought off by Haymon?

118 to 1.08 was the only way you could score that fight.

116 to 110 would be GENEROUS.

    115 to 111 = ****

114 to 112 = sleeping in bed w/ al haymon.

I had it 116-110. To score it 118-110, you'd have to give Broner only the 12th round. That's a ****ty score along with 114-112
