These bias accusations you guys are making to tear down the legacies of Machen Folley and Williams in order to protect patterson is pathetic in my opinion

I have never seen a poster try so hard to defend there man when he blantantly picked on soft hand picked oppositin during his title reign

You and Edward love patterson and dislike liston

    That's quite apparent.

bottom line: floyd passed up his number 1 contender eddie Machen to take on a lower ranked fighter Roy Harris. This is a fact. I've made my case.

Mongoose you and I normally have a very good friendship..maybe we should end this before it gets out of hand. I don't want this to become personal with you and I

I thought Patterson defended against Liston.

Was he part of the hand-picked opposition?

The number 1 contender who stunk up the joint in a highly touted bout and failed to win an eliminator, and was also out with an injury....why keep ignoring that?

Patterson wasn't an active Champ, but of the number one drops the ball and getsinjured, showmust go on.

"You and Edward love Patterson and dislike Liston"

Seriously, only a very naïve person tells someone else who that other person loves or dislikes. Stick to opinions you might know something about.

Harris, London radamcher, mcneeley was also hand picked. You yourself said when I posted film of Machen-Valdes II that eddie Machen deserved a title shot against patterson and you wondered if patterson could have handled Machen in 57.

Heck Mickey in Rocky III was based on Cus d amato being overprotective

Patterson did defend against liston, finally. The public pressure was too much. He even had to leave Damato to make the fight happen. Damato never much believed in floyd. I give floyd respect for fighting liston.

So instead of fighting the number 2, Folley he bypasses him for the number 3 guy?

Machen Hammered Pattersons previous title challenger hurricane Jackson. He was the number 1 contender in the world. Him drawing with the number 2 heavyweight in the world shouldn't eliminate either men since the number 3 guy didn't beat either of them

Why do you never defend liston or his opposition? I've never seen it

Folley was a ring magazine top 10 contender for ELEVEN straight years 1956-1967

    That's a GREAT contender

Eddie Machen historically has been considered a great contender who was avoided by Pattersons camp and blocked out of a title shot

But you are ignoring that it was the NBA which either urged or demanded that Machen and Folley fight an elimination. The fight turned out negatively and hurt the standing with the public of both of them.

Certainly Machen would have been a great opponent after Patterson got done with Jackson, and he was a bit better than Harris in early 1958, not world's apart, but somewhat better.

Ok so you admit Machen was the better choice than Harris.

Now let's take radamacher and London

Don't you think Folley or Machen were better opponents than either of those men?
