Ha ha, NO. Kovalev isn't that fast and he ain't gonna catch Ward with counters. Ward has the superior boxing IQ here and it's really not even close. The problem here is that Kovalev will need to put punches together in order to beat Ward. Landing one punch ain't gonna do it. Sorry but Kovalev ain't gonna touch Ward with 2s and 3s. If Kovalev wasn't trying to KO a 50 year old fighter who hadn't scored a KO in over a decade then that speaks volumes about Kovalev and doesn't bode well for his chances at beating Ward...
Kovalev is pretty good at landing punches in bunches if you hadn't noticed, if all else fails he'll do Ward like he did Hopkins in the last round. Hopkins shots didn't effect Kovalev in the least, and ask Hopkins and Pascal if Kovalev is fast or not.
Ward fans are delusional. I guess you are a bit desperate now when Floyd is done. Ward has some skills and can box but his victories against Froch and Kessler are only two wins that makes him elite. But there are so many other elite level fighters. He hasn´t done anything special to be considered better than Kovalev, Golovkin, Crawford or several others. And he doesn´t reach to my top 3 p4p list eather. Never did. Top 3 is Mayweather, Klitschko and Gonzalez. IMO Ward should prove himself against the best before he can come back to top 5 p4p.

Anyone can land flush on anyone Saying "if Smith can land flush Sergey can land flush" is the same as "Kovalev could not KO Hopkins so he won´t be able to KO Ward." Kovalev is a great fighter but Ward and Hopkins fight nothing alike. Hopkins is closer to Pascal, reason why i knew Pascal would get to Kovalev but also why he would loose by KO. And Ward´s best weapon is his jab. He stiff arms a lot with it and used it to set up shots.
GGG and Kov look great, but they haven't done anything special. What does Ward have to prove? The only thing he had to do was to come back and keep active.

Kovalev can counter punch...just ask Sillakh, great amateur with over 300 fights. Had reach and height advantage on Sergey and got KTFO. Kovalev counters Ward all day.
