Quarry Calls Frazier & Patterson Dirty Fighters

Is 'whinging' some kind of British slang?

 

I was wondering the same thing.

 

Arthur Mercante Sr said that Frazier was the cleanest swarming type of fighter he ever saw.

Jerry was probably ****ed that he tried to fight Frazier head to head and got beaten to a bloody pulp.

 

I wouldn't has Frazier was notorious when it came to fouling his opponents, but I have seen him throw punches to the hips and even appeared to hit his fighter in the thigh from time to time. I've also seen him lead with his head before, I can actually remember in instance in the first fight with Jerry Quarry he lead his head.

 

Yeah. We often do that with our own language, which is English.

 

Which is why I wrote at the beginning Joe Frazier it seems to me was the type that would both give and take and just get on with it. I think it does Quarry no favours complaining after the events tbh.

 

I call bull**** on Jerry (posthumously of course)...Patterson was one of the cleanest, most sportsmanlike fighters ever. Complete bull**** here....and Brit slang or no, it's "whine", not "whinge". I don't buy "whinge".

We are talking about Quarry here, and he had some issues mentally speaking. If Quarry said this after his ring career was over, I would not put any stock in it.
