Booth is saying that there'll be 35,000 tickets available. Stadium only holds 25k (15k of which are seated). Assuming they'd have to put bucket seats on the terraces. Then seats on the pitch.... Can't see that totaling up to 35k Anyway, whatever capacity it is it would be great to have boxers from all over the island at it. Looking at the VVarren-MGM-Boxnation/DiBella/Booth stables the undercard could feature: Conlan (v Butler?) Ryan Burnett's British Title Eliminator v Jason Booth Fitzgerald (v Dee Walsh for Irish LMW title?) Hyland Ormond Geraghty/Creagh/McDonagh (Irish title v Byrne) Then there's also talk of Murphy's being involved too: Could mean McGuinness or O'Connor and of course Spike-Eubank Jr. - Winner gets the winner of Lee-BJS
Id have thought they'd at least TRY to get this fight. Its a world title, in Limerick. How many world titles have ever been fought in Ireland? But I can imagine Sky making it exclusive though, although Im doubting PPV....right?
Good man! Just trying to figure out if I can make it back. Trying to wrangle together a few buddies and make a proper night of it. In another note, I wonder what the undercard will look like? Surely Willie Big Bang will find a way in there? Put in Spike to get the Cork crowd in(also a possible future opponent)...maybe a Con Sheahan debut? Im not usually in favour of letting Tipp people over the border, but an exception could be made
I really hope its a great success Dutchie. I'm totally behind this event and as you say Andy could probably have made bigger in London - all credit to him. Its just that some people have a problem behaving themselves, particularly with drink on board - you know yourself. I just dont want to give the 'knockers' anything to latch on to have an excuse to knock Limerick/Boxing/travellers or whatever.
What do you have against tipp people std? Still sore about the hammering Limerick got in there home patch sunday lmfao
Big ask alright but three qualify for the world championships so if he is beaten as long as Selimov wins the competition Sean qualifies for the world championships, There a last 8 place will get him Rio qualification,Very doable for a lad like him.
well if thats the case selimov is going to win the whole thing easy his a class act with judging behind him
It's only the Top 3 lightweights from the Worlds who qualify now. But there's 2 other qualifying tournaments next year. I'd be confident of him making it. Outlined the full thing back here http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?p=17103478#post17103478
