I guess that's one way of looking at things. But sounds a lot more to me like a lot of political maneuvering by both camps, between some big players in the game, and it may ultimately have had less to do with Stevenson and Kovalev then their respective people in both cases. That's my view on things, and no one can deny that there was a lot of political BS going on between these 2 camps trying to screw each other over while jockeying for position.

Well I see my theory that some of Kovalev's most ardent supporters are also supporters of something else may be true.....

Ward would get the easy decision.

The truth is Ward would be very wary after watching Kov dominate Bhop and not in a lucky slugfest way, but being outboxed. The main fact remains, Kov has tremendous power that lasts a full 12 rounds and is strong as an ox. Ward is making a lot of noise concerning Froch and the smaller GGG, but i can't seem to hear anything about Kov. He is an intelligent man and knows that Kov possesses a significant threat to him and isn't feeling so confident.

I'm not calling Ward a coward as he is entitled to fight who he wants, but a fight with Kov is inevitable. He is talented and needs to test himself. Ward is a more natural LHW and is boiling down to SMW. Kov is the top LHW and Ward is the top SMW, the fight makes sense. It will also make a lot of money as well, so the incentive is there for Ward. He gets the bragging rights for beating the beast that is Kov and get his biggest paycheck too. Again it makes you wonder what is making him wait?

Ward doesn't have the strength to last 12 rounds with Kovalev.

The power shots would get to him and eventually wear him down while he tries running around the ring coming in and out looking for angles and openings.

Kovalev by KO or decision after 8 rounds.

Pascal had some success but the power got to him and his stamina slowly depleted after the mid rounds.

It makes you wonder if a granite chinned boxer Pascal was knocked senseless by Kov and Bhop was visibly shaken and had to go into survival mode, then how would Ward react. Ward is a classy boxer but he can be hit, that is clear to see. If Froch got a few good shots on him then Kov should be able to get to Ward too.

Only a boxer of RJJs talent could effectively take Kov from the outside, Ward isn't as quick or have the reflexes to last a full 12 without sustaining some significant damage. Ward WILL revert to type and i mean by close quarter mauling and clinching to grind Kov down. But is he strong enough to do this to Kov and still win rounds?

Pascal did always have suspect stamina and like to take breaks though, which against a relentless big puncher would always be his downfall.

Ward hasn't really shown stamina issues to my knowledge.

Agree If kov catches him he could stop him but I give Ward a decent shot of coming up with a gameplan to get a decision

The thing with kovalev is he seems annoyed when hit, he is defensive minded aswell, he is no froch. He won't take 4 to land one, he's more technical.

Rummy forgetting that we are living in the Klitschko era.

Also, it is not good to pretend that the grandmaster of boxing Guillermo Rigondeaux doesn't exist. :)

Both guys are above Ward, who Rummy only overrates because once upon a time he picked the right prospect to become one of boxing's top fighters. Other than that, it's all good, Ward is one of the top boxers around. Not good to present a personal subjective opinion as some kind of a fact.

It is unjustified to ignore the top super-middleweights and only mention Froch, pretending that Ward truly cleared out the division. In reality, there are 3 other titleholders, and Ward only defeated 1 of them (which was about 4 years ago, with Abraham becoming much higher earner and bigger draw than Ward in the meantime). The IBF titleholder, James DeGale, holds a win over a fighter who is arguably more talented than anyone Ward has ever faced.

Coincidentally, the very same James DeGale called Ward out recently and said that he believes that Ward will avoid the fight.

Coincidentally, Ward managed not to mention DeGale's name so far, while continuing to call out middleweights in the process.

Btw, how about Ward vs Dirrell? :smoke

Andre Ward would have his moments for sure, but I think he finally gets caught and stopped late...

This would be a great fight.
