It was on BET vs a complete nobody Ward did Half the viwers on BET vs Smith than did Golovkin vs Geale on HBO.
(i know, premium vs cable but still)

 

But, but, but....Ward is suppose to be the A side!

 

ggg wants no part of ward....plain and simple....he would get outclassed thoroughly...

lemieux is more up gggs alley....albeit a step up from his recent 33 fight streak of bums

 

Scratch the part about the c/w and yeah thats all true. K2 has not made any secret of the fact that to leave the 160lb division they want it to be a major fight. Not sure why anyone has a problem with that, since no fighter should be obligated to leave their division.

Since his loss, Chavez idea has been officially dropped by K2 as well since its no longer a major fight.

If Ward wants the fight, Roc going to have to open their pocketbook. Or he can move to 160 and challenge Golovkin in his own division. Not that i'd recommend that, hes too big to squeeze down and be healthy.

why should ward want it? ward already went through 168 years ago...and 168 five years ago was much better than it is now

what has ggg done? who has he beaten? it should be ggg that wants this fight.......if for nothing more than the challenge of a top p4p fighter and at least "one" person to add to his resume that is impressive.....ggg has nothing on that resume that shines........it should be ggg wanting the ward fight......but hed rather be talking about floyd and cotto lol

 

i understand ggg wants big name/money fights.....he wants a cotto...or a canelo.....but he should prob realize that cotto wont happen....aned canelo prob wont for a little bit if it even does.......so hes prob not going to get what hes seeking.....he should at least want to fight a p4p top guy...not just any p4p top guy but one that has been there for years and is right there under floyd

problem is.....ggg knows that hell get outboxed....and that loss will ruin his aura.....and those big money fights he craves, but cant get anyway, will vanish

ggg gets a pass for things other guys would get bashed for.....because hes the new darling

 

Yeah, I guess Ward is the A side, so it's his promoter's responsibility to put together a proposal.

 

Ya, how dare GGG try to unify the middleweight titles before moving up for the Ward showdown, even though Ward said he'd like a fight or two to shake off the rust.

I'm sure Ward is happy to face GGG and GGG happy to fight Ward. In time.....

 

Why would Ward want it? Because he doesn't have many options and is not a draw, Ward doesn't bring as much for GGG as the other way round when you consider everything.

 

Ward is too high risk, low reward for Golovkin. I don't blame him for not wanting Ward but don't turn around and claim Ward is ducking or Golovkin fights anyone when he's clearly making a financial decision by ignoring Ward.

And all of this would've been avoided if there was no negotiating with Chavez or Froch.

 

Ward will get smashed like an annoying fly unless he manages to head butt Gennady early or hangs on him all the time. Plain and simple.

HBO seems keen on forcing Ward to fight GGG or Kovalev. They have the ability to do this and it is going to be interesting to see how Ward reacts.

 

Well, A-side is, in the end determined by who brings the money.

If you just go by the money brought in by the fight, then GGG is obviously the A-side. However, if Roc decided they wanted to put something together, nothing is stopping them from making an investment. If Roc wanted to put the money up, then yeah Ward could in fact be the A-side.

The problem here, is Ward has been lying and trash talking in hopes of getting attention at worst, or K2 to hand him a payday at best.

You cant really expect K2, who isnt even Wards promoter, to bother investing huge money beyond what the fight will make.

 

Well if Golovkin is the A side, then shoudn't his people be the one's making an offer? You don't know how much the fight would make or what each guy's contract demands are. Is anyone asking Golovkin's side to make contract offers to Cotto, Alvarez, and Mayweather? Can't all 3 of those guys just say a Golovkin fight isn't worth it to them given their other options, just like Golovkin's people are saying Ward isn't worth it to them?
