Might be a good fight. Despite Bowe being who he was in '92, I would have to go with George getting to him in the middle rounds, battering him on the ropes, and the ref stopping it before Bowe hit the canvas. I did like Bowe in the early '90s though. I did hear he was making a comeback, but this is just a daft rumour somebody please tell me!!
This would of been a tremendous fight. Bowe never utilized his advantages in height and reach. He always got sucked into a war. If Holyfield was able to rattle him Foreman certainly would. However big George could tire too and Bowe had lot of heart. I could see this looking like Foreman vs Lyle. Fun fight for sure.
73 Foreman wins by Late KO.. Bowe got rattled, and had to go Hell and high water to win in 92, against 205lb Holy, he wouldn't hold up against a man nearly 25-30 lbs heavier, and much more powerful.. Foreman was a wrecking machine, back in those days, Bowe was inconsistent and just plain lazy and dumb..
Foreman TKO. Bowe could outbox and hurt Foreman. Bowe had elite skills, big time power and strength, a solid chin and crazy heart. This would prob be an epic war. No one can out slug Foreman, but Bowe is bigger and maybe meaner and tougher than Lyle. Foreman was a force of nature and his pressure was too relentless. I believe Foreman takes a beating and even a knockdown but stops Bowe on his feet in the midrounds. Ali is the only guy that could beat 40-0 Foreman,
Both really overrated but I would think Foreman would see it through and win by split decision in a yawner.
Are you sure? The guy dumped a belt rather than fight Lewis. He also LOOKED to get Golota DQ'd, and you believe he had a lot of heart. Yeah ok, and Stephen Hawkins is a juggler.
Agreed. Bowe was very good, skilled, strong and big But his defense was his weakest side, he took too many punches, and no one can take Foreman's power too long. Foreman by KO, in brutal fight
Don't discount Bowe completely here. Lyle was able to stick it out with Foreman, drop him, hurt him and very nearly stop him. I know this wasn't 73 or a prime George Foreman if you like, but let's not pretend Bowe isn't right at home going toe to toe, trading big punches. I'd quite clearly take Foreman here, but the conclusion isn't as foregone as the confidence in my pick.
