I'd give GGG about a 10% chance, and I'd give Kovalev a 55-60% chance. From what I've seen of Beterviev, he's too slow, a bit uncoordinted, and most importantly, lacking a lethal jab. So I give him a puncher's chance.

For the record, since the mid-90s, of the fighters I have consistently rooted for...

    * 3 of them were Americans
    * 2 of them were Polish
    * 2 of them were Mexicans

Ward vs Kovalev would be a great fight. I'd pick Kovalev to win, just because he has already dominated a similar fighter in Bernard Hopkins. Yes, BHop was old, but it was a one-sided fight. Ward just doesn't have the style to beat Kovalev.

To beat Kovalev, it'll take a similar fighter to Kovalev but with better handspeed. The Krusher has slow hands and could be picked apart by someone with long reach and fast hands.

As for Golovkin vs Ward, I'd pick Golovkin since GGG has also demolished several slick defensive fighters.

Andre Ward has never beaten a fighter with really good defense and overall technical skills. GGG and Kovalev might fool some people with their quick knockouts, but they are both highly skilled, and they block punches very effectively.

With Beterviev's wrestling background and considering where he trained the sport, it would be hilarious to see Ward even try and clinch him. The guy could break Ward's ribs in a clinch just by squeezing if he wanted to.

iv never seen a guy man handle guys in the clinch like beterbiev

clinching is ruining the sport and a lot of fighters use it as there main defense. beterbiev makes clinching the last thing you would ever want to do, its amazing.

i can imagine a trainer shouting ' tie him up!'

and the fighter shouting back ' **** no, il get clubbed to death'

Beterbiev only has what, 12 fights? He's not in Ward's class. Andre schools him something ugly. I doubt this fight goes 12...

No problem, good and interesting videos. You should try to do them more frequently. :good

I don't know about Roman, but Rigo is arguably the best boxer there is. If I'm correct, his defense is statistically the best, as he gets hits the least on average. I don't see how is Ward more talented than Rigondeaux.

Wlad has been slipping, but considering what's he done, it doesn't look suitable to compare him to Ward, who has only been around since 2009 or something. After all, there is a reason the last 10 years in boxing is called the Klitschko era. :)

I've always been both appreciative and critical of Andre Ward.

As you know, he has been using the media to secure certain fights for years. Kelly Pavlik, Sergio Martinez, Floyd Mayweather, Chavez Jr and Gennady Golovkin. What's the common characteristic of these guys? Well, they are all fighting in weight classes below super-middleweight.

At some point you have to ask when is he finally going to fight the top super middleweights? The last time he's done that was 2011, which is about 4 years ago.

Also, I don't think that many fans are demanding to see Beterbiev and Stevenson.

People demanding Ward/Golovkin are mostly 1) GGG haters who want to see him lose or 2) Ward fans who want their guy to become a bigger star.
Similar logic could be applied to Kovalev/Ward scenario.

However, what is natural, is that each of those guys takes on the best challengers of his own division. Ward has even been stripped of the Ring/lineal SMW title, which is now vacant.

Why not try unify the division and take on best? James DeGale has called him out. Coincidentally, he's in the same weight class as Ward.

And I would love to see Andre Ward proving his talent against Andre Dirrell. I'm sure that many people have been waiting for that for years. Certainly more demanded than Ward/Beterbiev. :smoke

I don't think Ward's the best defensive fighter apart from Mayweather, I think Rigondeaux and even Lomachenko are above him.

If he started to fight real fighters he would be intresting, like the Stieverne fight (the fight didnt turn out great but thats hindsight). If he fights journeymens as a champion, how ever that happend, he wont.

So so far he's had one intresting fight in which he didn't get the knock out.
This far he'd share the same Place as Helenius on my atg-list, which means he hasn't proven anything on the top and can go either way.

The same could be said about Fury, except that he is glass without the cannon.
