Monzon he could keep you at arms length like Ali and he was equally brilliant at cutting you off like GGG

Mike Gibbons' footwork was head and shoulders above anyone else in the 1910s. Greb and Leonard in the 1920s. Robinson in the 1940s and 1950s. Ali in the 1960s. Leonard in the 1980s. Whittaker in the 1990s.

Ali has the best footwork in boxing history. Bruce Lee copied Ali's footwork.

That's nonsense. There's a difference between dancing around wasting energy and using your feet to stay in position. Mayweather and Marquez easily have better footwork than Ali did.

The fastest footwork ever, that bedazzled and frustrated his opponents of every size and weight was the irrepressible Harry Greb, no doubt. He bounced it was said like a rubber ball, in every direction and was never in the same spot for a second for the full 15 rounds...Impossible to time and
at the same time throwing fusillades of punches from all and every direction..
Not classic footwork but effective as hell...

It's a clear fact Ali has the best footwork in boxing history. The Father Of Martial Arts copied his footwork. Wasting energy wouldn't matter with Ali because he is an amazing athlete that could stay on his toes for 15 rounds and not get tired. I know you're a casual fan so I'm not going to embarrass you for stating such a comment.

His footwork sure failed him in the 70s. Floyd and Marquez are old and still doing it.

Paul Spadafora and Vernon Forrest were also good.
