With some help from the judges, Vargas could become another Algieri tonight if he had an opponent with a suitable style for him.

Algieri got at least a tiny catching up to do if he wants to match Vargas' accomplishments. Comparable fighters in several respects.

At 140. Sign me up. I'm thinking Algieri would edge a decision.

No matter who won, taste bitter the result, rematch I don't want to see it Vargas is overrated with no heart and Timo is going down hill, do you imaging him calling out GGG.

He was hurt a lot more against Provodnikov and he still made it.No way Vargas would have stopped him.

The fight should not have been stopped. Obviously. But the chances of Vargas getting a KO were VERY small.

I don't think you are using "out cold" right.

He wasn't out cold. Lol.....that's the silliest sh*t I've read on this fight. Out cold is Pac after his 4th fight with Marquez....or Hatton after 2 rounds with Manny. Tim was badly hurt but had enough awareness to hold.....he wasn't getting KO'd with 7 ticks on the clock and Tim wrapping up Jessie.

    Haha, no kidding...

That's like the famous thread about what it means to be "floored."

It's amazing to me that people can watch something and see what they want to see. There is no doubt that Bradley was hurt bad from the punch. But he managed to stay away long enough to be clear enough to block a shot, duck a shot and then to tie Vargas up. He was actively defending. Not a sitting duck. The chances of Vargas scoring another meaningful blow, let a lone a fight ender in the last 6 seconds were very slim.

this is what i've been saying but since Vargas is practically unknown without a fan following it's so much easier to say "Bradley would've survived, same result"

Vargas was robbed of his chance to score a late stoppage :deal

    It screwed both fighters

Vargas was robbed of his 10% chance to end it and Bradley was robbed of his 90% chance at a non-controversial victory. That's two fights in a row where he has kind of got the screw job.

I don't think Bradley was ever going to be stopped. He gets rocked pretty easily, but he has a ton of heart and always finds a way to keep going. He has been hurt that badly before and against better fighters, yet he hasn't been stopped yet. Lets also not forget that he has taken a knee before, which is all he had to do if he thought he was going down.

Ultimately it sucks for everyone involved
