although i agree that someone could and might get hurt this is nothing like bashing defenceless old people in the street. gary will have a full training camp to prepare for this fight and will get paid good money for stepping in the ring as a professional fighter. some old geezer getting bashed in the street arent full time professional fighters or being paid for the bashing!!

Could they not have put this on the Manchester card?

Look though Joshua's pro career - some of these punches taken by Hector Avilla and Matt Legg are 2 examples of fighters who took heavy blows with zero chance of winning.

A serious incident is waiting to happen.

If it's for the British it's a good match up. Realistically who else is he gonna fight for it?

Agree with pro punter. Its seriously uncomfortable to watch a jacked up Olympian pro pummel some old out of shape has-beens and never-wheres who are too technically deficient to protect themselves adequately

Then you have matchroom apologist fcks on here like beachieboy pretending that they are tough tests

You absolute fool, make up **** all you like, I haven't claimed it to be a tough test, AJ wins comfortably, everyone knows that but the guy is 21-0 he is no mug. He knows how to defend himself and he knows how to hit and hurt someone. Matchroom are doing nothing different to any promotional company in the history of the sport, so instead of me apparently being some fanboy, maybe it is you being just an absolute ****head trying to hate upon someone or some people that are successful. Get your facts straight and by the looks of things you need to check up on the history of boxing as you seem to have no clue about anything.

Not really considering big AJ has been living large in Marbella for the past month.

You bring up this guy's record as if he's been mauling beasts but in reality he's also been feasting on bums.

Then you say it's not a bad fight because the guy is coming to win

That suggests to me you think it's a tough fight for AJ.

Btw I'm not trying to hate, I got no hate for some private schoolboy who wanted to be a thug because he couldn't get the sony console.

My hate is for the hype he consistently gets while he is relentless chopping through complete bums

You can't defend matchroom, they have been talking this felon up and pulling names out the hat such as price, wach, thompson , chisora, fury and whyte, and at the last minute they pull out this cornbeef can clown who will go over withing 2-3 rnds and then you will tell us that AJ learnt a lot from the fight.

It's a farce - you know it, I know it, matchroom knows it and AJ sure as hell knows it.

He was supposed to fight Whyte but Whyte declined because of injury and it's not as if he's exactly a serious challenge anyway. Pricevis fighting for the European. Tyson has a world title fight and as he's the British champ Hennessey could have easily got Hughie the mando position. Thompson and Wach aren't British and the clip of Wach sparring Cornish shows they're equally average boxers.

This is the kind of thing that casuals who know nothing about boxing latch on to. "Oi mate, you watching the AJ fight at the weekend? He's fighting a bloke who's 21-0, big test this is for Joshua mate"...

And then when Josh blows them out in one round "Oi mate, you see AJ last week? Bloody hell, new Mike Tyson mate. They should stick him in with Khan next, mate"...

Cornish has boxed absolute bums. Johnson had never been stopped but every man and his dog who actually watch boxing knew he'd get stopped by Joshua. Wach, Thompson, Whyte (pre-hand injury), Hughie Fury, Charr" would all have been far more interesting than seeing Cornish cover up and take a TKO defeat within two rounds.

I'm really not interested in Joshua fighting Cornish. He may be 21-0, but I'd never heard of him till now. The lack of any hype smacks to me of nothing to hype.

The talk is this is a gap filler before Joshua vs Whyte but I won't hold my breath...

not sure if this is a gap filler, because he's pulled out of the Manchester card on the basis of this September fight.

Is this fight official btw, because I thought wach was all but signed and sealed

It will take about 2 minutes into round 1 for Joshua to lay Cornish out cold.

This is a terrible fight, I don't care about the record that Gary Cornish has, he is awful and has next to no power to boot. This fight doesn't go past the first round, Wach was a much better opponent and at least give AJ rounds.

I would be shocked if Cornish can survive for more than two rounds.
