Arum said Floyd was never serious about fighting Wright, he was just playing himself.

You should check your Facts before starting a thread with "THE FACTS":

Floyd fought Gatti in June 2005
Winky fought Taylor in May 2006
And Winky did NOT win the middleweight title

Paul Williams who Floyd also ducked. And no Martinez wasn't overrated.

Not what Shaw said. And that was winky's promoter.

"As of right now, it's no deal - they changed the money on me at the last second," said promoter Gary Shaw, who said he was close to finalizing the fight when he walked into Top Rank and Bob Arum's office Thursday.

But within seconds, he said, the deal evaporated.

"I walked in, I told him: "I believe we have a deal,' " Shaw said. "And Bob said, "so it's a deal - 55-45 (money split)'.

"I said, "Bob, that was never, ever discussed, no deal' and that was that."

The day before, Shaw said he and Arum had agreed to a 50-50 purse split as well as other requests from Mayweather's camp. He added that Wright adviser Jim Wilkes and Don King, who has an option on Wright's next fight, agreed as well.

According to Shaw, however, Arum said he did not remember that conversation. Arum was unavailable for comment.

Shaw and Arum were in Las Vegas to promote the Oct. 8 rematch between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. Shaw promotes Corrales; Arum promotes Castillo.

"There were requests made by Floyd Mayweather, we laid it out and I think they were fair requests," Arum told maxboxing.com. "Gary rejected them, so there's no fight. We have to sit with Floyd and we'll figure out (what we do next). Maybe (Antonio) Margarito. It's unfortunate as far as the Winky Wright fight, but it's not going to happen."

While Shaw said he agreed with just about all of the demands from the Mayweather team, principally regarding weight, he doesn't think the Detroit fighter, aformer Olympian, was behind the breakdown.

"I think it's Arum," Shaw said. "When Floyd normally calls someone out, he's serious about fighting them."

When you say somebody has ducked another the fighter you have to state the time frame in which the ducking took place to see if the fight was viable.

He fought on floyd's undercard at the end of 06. No significant wins at the time. Floyds next fight was DLH in 07, Paul fought Marg 2 months after that. Floyd fought hatton at the end of 07 and retired. Paul lost his very next fight to carlos quintana ffs.

So the only issue with my post really is that he had beaten Trinidad and not JT (still at MW)..who he DID beat...but you can't get that off boxrec so you wouldn't know that, right? If that fight was a draw, then Mayweather lost to Castillo by 2 or 3 rounds.

    The point is still valid.

Exactly. Other technicians are Floyd's comfort zone.

A physical, strong, fast and high stamina fighter is what he doesn't want in the ring.

Never has wanted any part of young mosley or pac. Never has been eager to fight physically gifted fighters.

Yes he was. And all that "one leg" stuff gets on my nerves. Clearly cotto would have destroyed any version of sergio. It was not "oh, look at that he was injured and thats why cotto won, good fight", no, it was more like "wtf, cotto has beaten sergio to death and beyond!". And I remember you, that cotto is ww, jmw at best.

And no, i bet cotto cannot destroy as easily a 1 leg floyd. Nor a one hand floyd either.

It was like watching porn, cotto ****d him so badly, man.
