Stevenson has a more impressive string of opponents in the last two years IMO, and Uchiyama has a win over Miura + a bunch of others but I'll concede that, you can make a an argument for GGG over Takashi...

Either way with all these guys, ranking him above 6-7 as you said is nonsense and even then you can make cases for a bunch of other guys who have pretty much the same achievements to be above him.

Stevenson is close, and I wouldn't say that he has any top level wins either but I can see it being close. I can also see why you'd put Alvarez above GGG if you think he beat Lara.

Cotto, is the linear Mw champion. No matter what anyone opinion is. So, ggg is not the best in division. By, the book.

Resume-wise, I agree. Although I believe 1) if he does crack the top 10, he's either 9 or 10 :deal and 2) he has the ability to relatively easily make top 10.

    Chunky wants the bout

    Eddie Hearns would welcome it!

    What about Tommy Loefller?

    Is he scared??

Huh? Who knows, maybe if Froch wont fight after all then De Geale can get it instead? Didnt know Hearn had said anything about the bout though, it would obviously only happen if he thought it was SkyBO worthy.

Last I saw, he was much more interested in matching Froch and DeGeale and no intention of trying to get GGG over for anyone but Froch.

Takes two to make a fight happen I don't see any 160 elite banging on GGG's door Cotto claims to be the lineal 160 champ. What did he do to get it?? Beat a crippled Martinez
Eventually defended it against a weight drained fighter that GGG had already KO'd. How did he warrant the title shot I wonder & not GGG????? add to this Cotto's Quitto reputation 160 needs a REAL champion I believe GGG is that champion

I thought Lara beat him, but it was a close fight and if the judges gave it to Alvarez I respect that.

Hearn is not risking his post-Froch SMW moneymaker vs GGG anytime soon. It might be a while.

That would be a great match! I'd favor Gennady in that fight, but it would be very interesting to see how he takes a power punch from a good SMW.

It's lineal not linear. Why don't you "buy a book" and read it?

I dunno if I agree on the pound for pound situation, depends what criteria though I do agree he ain't ''elite'' until he beats an elite. If we take into account many fighters could've battered Martinez in that condition, does Cotto belong up there?

Being the best in your respective division with twenty-some odd knockouts in a row is certainly enough to make an appearance on the pound for pound list but when you start moving him closer to number one and past that five and six position you're kind of pushing it.

I can see list where he ranks in the 5th to 7th range. Ring Magazine currently has him ranked at 4th which I think is a tab bit pretentious when you look at his resume, I can't name one elite level fighter he's beaten. Then again, you have the activity and performance argument. He's beating who's available and keeping consistent.

I do not like how GGG's trunks never match his robe. I should make a thread that defames him over this.
