I think ****ey could probably do a better job than Morrison?

****ey TKO 6. Morrison roughed up and even hurt Mercer by his own admission. ****ey was bigger, stronger, and hit harder. Decent jab to boot. Mercer is formidable but I think ****ey could overwhelm him and dent that chin.

If Gerry boxes he wins a decision. He could jab and use a fair amount of footwork when he wanted to and Francesco Damiani had Ray outboxed for nine rounds before getting his nose broke. Gerry would have the reach and was a bit more mobile.

I would favor C00ney. His jab will really keep Mercer honest and ****ey would tee off on Mercers granite chin. I actually think C00ney may knock mercer out. If Anyone could do it, it would be him.

****ey is not KOing Mercer. nobody did until he was a ghost of a shell.
****ey hit really hard, but was not the absolute best at putting folks away.
****ey iis a prime example of someone who was not that strong, certainly for his size.
He just had a Monster left.
You could see the difference in build, arm size, strength....vs. old Foreman.

****ey at his best could outbox Mercer.

I would favor Mercer strongly here.

    Mercer certainly could win.

Their respective perfomances against Holmes do not inspite confidene though.

Since Holmes was prime vs. ****ey, & 137 years old when he outboxed Mercer-who was far from Merciless.

****ey had drugs & alcohol limiting him.
Mercer was talented but the intensioty of his efforts caried.
Especially when trying to throw a fight to "The Boogeyman".

The big guy really should have learned how to deploy his right more often.
He made Frazier look like a 2 fisted whirling dervish by comparison.

if he did, that alone could have made him great or near great-with focused training & sober.

I think prime ****ey is too big and strong for Mercer. Mercer had a granite chin, but I think ****ey could stop him late, maybe swell Ray's face up ala the Cooper fight.

think 1950's disparaging racial slur in the Southern U.S. That has to be the reason.

Mercer. He was far more durable.

The loser would either claim to have not trained or to have been hungover, depending on who lost.
