Or after negotiations the catch weight could move to 166-167 leaving just a little for Ward to struggle with and be upset about.
They are showing who the boss is. If Ward wants to dictate weight and split, then he/RN need to produce money sufficient for Golovkin to be interested. By the way, I doubt that Ward would take 50% of a K2 purse even at 168, as he is used to getting good money for fighting B level opposition.
Funny how playing the A side for a catch weight is acceptable when Golovkin does it. I think 4 lbs is too much for Ward to cut at this point.
Cowards protecting their diva Ward.atsch Just like they try and protect Cotto and Froch and every other potential GGG victim. Do not fret; Ward is not about concessions of any form. He will never take this fight. Why should he? He has all of you brainwashed from the safety of his/your keyboards replete with world view intact.
Triple Duck can decide to prove himself and offer to fight Ward at 168. Until then he's just another can crusher. But I suspect his team doesn't want him anywhere near boxers like Ward or even Lara. Ward vs Triple Duck would look like Hopkins/Pavlik except maybe worse.:yep
I don't think GGG will fight Ward at 168. GGG team is thinking of a CW because the monetary compromise from 164 at 50/50 to 165 to 166 to 167 to finally 168 would be unacceptable to Ward's team.
Come on man. If Cotto using a catchweight for Geale is a cowardly move than GGG using a catchweight for Ward is also cowardly. Ward is the man at 168. If GGG wants that victory why not move up and get it? GGG's skirt has just been pulled up to his neck with this catchweight cr@p.
:good That's what I think as well. They're putting the offer out there to see how Ward reacts. If he really wants the fight he will counteroffer. The fight should be at 168 imho. Catchweights suck.
It´s an offer that Ward can take or leave it. Some people are trying to compare different offers sent to Froch and Ward. The thing is, Froch is no Ward and that´s why GGG is willing to fight at 168 even though he gives up many advantages. Ward is technically better than Froch and some could say, bigger as well. Why should GGG offer a fight at 168 if he is his best at 160? GGG is making an offer that is more neutral for both of them, him and Ward. GGG is still a 160 pounder not 168. IMO Offer is very reasonable. Both guys have to make some compromises to fight each other. Ward is not going up 175 because he feels he is a true 168 pounder, why should GGG have to jump 8 pounds if Ward is unwilling to jump 7 pounds?
