:thumbsup, it's called white privilege , the next time you see a Mexican, or a Black who's committed multiple felonies, who was HIV positive, and denied it even thou they wasted away before our very eyes, and was married to 2 women at the same time, and who was just a dumb thug who gets a statue let me know, but it will never happen because we will probably all be dead by then..

I hear they've almost approved the Aaron Hernandez statue to go next to Morrison.

I could go on for a long time on his issues.

Just how many boxers are saints anyway, its a rough sport for rough men. Morrison was a very good fighter, Great warrior and good for the sport. That's good enough for me.

 

So a low level ABC org decides to plunk a few grand down for a mini statue, and people are getting all riled up about how it symbolizes white privelege?

Big friggin' deal. It's not like a million dollar gold statue paid for by the taxpayer and placed on an ancient Indian burial ground with a Klan hood on.

If it bugs you guys that much, go commission a mini statue of whatever disenfranchised minority fighter you want. Nothing is stopping you and sculptors would love the business.

This sites littered with millionaires, world class athletes, and playboys. 12 grand ought to be chump change.

Holyfield wasn't a mediocre athlete and I can't name a crime he committed. Try again.

 

As far as I know Holyfield was not a multiple convicted felon, who spent time in prison on numerous gun, meth , drug charges, and he was a helluva lot better fighter than Morrison..

 

Granted, the bar for heroes IS set perilously low in places such as Oklahoma.......

Were there any public memorials for Esteban DeJesus ... because he fits the bill. Except he didn't just commit petty crimes, he murdered, too.

 

Neither is mediocre. I don't know of any monuments for either. Comparing Foreman's character to Morrison's is laughable.

 

He wasn't mediocre and I don't know of any monuments in the U.S. dedicated to him. He certainly wouldn't deserve it.

 

Tommy Morrison is the patron saint of AIDS denial.

(Although the title should have gone to any number of black African politicians, Morrison's got rated for his whiteness again.)
