If GGG fought Jones how many rounds would Jones be able to survive against the kind of pressure GGG would put on him. Jones was no punk and wasnt a quitter like Cotto(e) but with that said i cant see Jones lasting more than five rounds.

How many rounds do you see Roy lasting against Good Boy?

I think he'd last 4 rounds before knocking Golovkin out cold.

The same amount he lasted against John Ruiz @ heavyweight.

I'm not sure Golovkin can beat Lara, Canelo or Quillian. None the less Roy Jones...who beats ANYBODY 168 and under in his prime.

At 160, Roy's pea-sized head wouldn't be able to resist to the first heavy blow.

Also are we talking about Roid Jones, or an hypothetical unroided version of him?

5-6 round GGG KO is the call here.

Terrible styles matchup for Roy, who I'd still favor over every middleweight who's fought since he did.

Erm, so the Middleweight RJJ who beat two all-time greats in Hopkins and Toney, would get blasted by GGG? Both of those guys would beat GGG by quite a wide margin, either by KO or UD.

If you're going to wum then do a better job of this.

    1) styles make fights.

    2) 1993 Hopkins wasn't close to being an ATG. It was his first title fight and he took 2 more tries afterward to win one.

    3) The Toney fight was at 168.

LOL @ people picking GGG, he'd be completely outclassed and if he comes forward he's getting knocked out. I suggest some people watch some prime Jones to remember what a beast he was at 160 and 168. He was Ko'ing far better opposition than GGG ever has.

If you have the ability to beat a prime RJJ you don't worry about fighting a past prime Ward at 168.

    Are you for real?

It took him 11 rounds to get rid of Murray.

I'm a big fan of GGG's and I can't wait for his next fight. But a thread like this is just ridiculous. As great and as exciting as he looks, he seems easy enough to hit to me, and Roy had superior speed and reflexes, great skill, and one punch knockout power in either hand.

I think you need to calm down and bump the thread in another few years.

You know **** about boxing if you think that Hopkins wasn't a KO artist at Middleweight. Your knowledge of boxing is limited to watching an old Hopkins, he was a much different animal at Middleweight. He is regarded as one of the all-time best Middleweights ever, with the likes of Hagler.

And so what if the Toney fight was at 168, Toney made his name at Middleweight and was ranked 1 at that weight, he was destroying everyone there. But RJJ beating Toney at SMW still holds water, as Toney was still top ranked at SMW. So the main issue is Toney facing GGG at Middleweight and Toney was a beast at his peak at Middleweight.

Also, people need to knock off the **** about Hopkins being green, what about RJJ, people making out like he was a veteran. What holds is that both fighters went on a VERY LONG undefeated run in their respective careers. Hopkins became the undisputed Middleweight for ages and RJJ was undisputed at LHW.

A terrible style match up for Roy?

And what about from GGG's perspective?

Roy had insane skills, speed, reflexes and also had one punch knockout power in either hand.

    You guys are crazy.

Stevens went 8 with him, Martin Murray 11, yet he'd have a taken out a 24/25 year old version of Roy in 5/6?

    Please!

I'm watching the Wille Monroe fight and GGG was having all sorts of problems with him. Just imagine a vastly superior RJJ with much more power hitting GGG with those punches? He wouldn't last past 8 rounds. Add a more powerful Hopkins and Toney to the mix, then GGG s opposition looks pants.
