    I'm aboard.
Diaz a very skilled fighter with all the tricks in the book and a wicked shot.
Peterson will crumble mid to late rounds

I wish this fight was televised instead of the Beterbiev first round KO.

Maybe we can hope for Lara to get a stoppage too? Lol

Not all that unlikely, actually. Someone in the Lara vs. Rodriguez thread reminded me that Oscar Diaz recently passed away...

Peterson is the more accurate puncher, the bigger fighter and has the better chin, just re-watch the rios fight and see the amount of massive punches he took there. Also you have the inactivity of Ammeth Diaz although Peterson has also been quite inactive. This fight has been made at 137lbs and I have not yet seen the weigh in results for this fight so I can't say much about that.
Diaz has not faired well with fighters who box from the outside and his inaccuracy and tendancy to throw more wild shots can be his undoing, see his wide decision losses to Miguel Vasquez and Joan Guzman and although he has power I am not sure he can KO the bigger Peterson, remember that in Peterson's only loss he fought the much heavier Brandon Rios who was 12lbs heavier on the night, and we all know how much punishment he can take and dish out.
I am not sure how motivated Peterson will be for this as it is not televised but as Diaz did win an IBF eliminator last time out, I am sure a win will move Peterson up the rankings. Diaz has already stated he has been training for the knockout and so, I would ordinarily go with Peterson by Decision but I think he can stop Diaz here as Diaz will throw some wild haymakers and leave himself open to be countered and therefore will go with Peterson by TKO in 8.

Peterson by decision, war Diaz by KO

These are fair points. For the record I don't see Diaz's power or awkward delivery knocking Peterson out (for the reasons you stated), but I can definitely see them frustrating him into giving up if he doesn't blast Diaz out.

    Once a quitter...

Is this fight still happening? It's not listed on any of the weigh-in results and the other two fights are listed as the swing bouts...

I refused to pick this fight on the Kirk's championship thread. Definitely a trap fight for everyone picking Peterson KO based on record. Diaz has a stronger resume than Anthony, despite the uglier record.

Cloroformo missed the catch weight. By about 6lb 12oz apparently. :!:

So they rescheduled AP for today's PBC show, and put him in with the 8-11-5 Ramesis Gil. :-(

And Ammeth is on this card too fighting someone else! Why didn't they just reschedule their fight??

Diaz is at welter, Peterson at light welter.

Diaz's opponent is a lot tougher. Walter Castillo is the same general level journeyman as Diaz.

Peterson on the other hand is being spoon-fed mush.
