Atlas (w/ his faithful lapdog Tessitore) signed a contract with PBC before FNF went away.

 

I'm glad I caught the last few rounds of that.

 

Cherry is on a nice run, 10-0 (7) dating back to his loss to Bradley seven years ago...though his only credible names beaten in that span are Chente Escobedo and now Cruz.

He ought to angle for a match with Anthony Peterson. Would make for good TV and would cull the pool of guys with quasi-names on the fringes of contention.

 

Actually, thinking about it, Cherry vs. Meza Clay II would be loads of fun, and very easy to make given that both Edner & Monty are now with Al Haymon, and MMC has gained lots of exposure recently in exciting nationally televised bouts (albeit losses)

 

You should've heard the BS rhetoric from Atlas during the 7th (though I'm sure you caught some of it during the eighth) - he was committed to forcing the square peg of that fight through a round hole of his preconceived notions and the cliched script he felt like pushing tonight (Cherry being old and washed up and not hungry enough to deal with Cruz's "superior boxing")

 

First stoppage loss of The Artisan's career...and 2nd consecutive defeat. (the previous one coming by SD8 to a 7-13-3 opponent :!

I think Cruz may be done. Too bad. He was a skilled prospect before MiniBurgos ruined him.

 

So instead of an hour of downtime, why not keep the ESPN3 feed going and show us Antonio Tarver Jr.? Castillo vs. Diaz? Peterson vs. taxi driver?

 

Tarver Jr. apparently sparred with Thurman and held his own. :think

(he is campaigning at middleweight, and is currently at 2-0)

 

Alright, that is more than enough of my sweat put into finding a TN8 Deportivo stream (Nicaraguan TV) in the off chance of catching Diaz vs. Castillo or anything else from this card. :conf
