Wlad vThe 80's Heavies?

I am not dismissive of his style, thats what he uses to stay on top but that same style would not work against Tyson, Bowe or Lewis.

BTW, I dont hate him, I actually compliment him for his focus, dedication and longevity plus he is a refreshing breath outside of the ring, however, IMO, due to the very poor talent pool over the last 7-8 years he has not been pushed and I stand firm when a elite Heavy on the same level as he is makes him fight out of his comfort zone, not calculated but instinct he will panic and get betrayed by his chin.

No matter how you dice or slice it, the Jennings performance was very poor against a C + level fighter.

 

I'll wait for you to claim that Peter was a better inside fighter than Povetkin. Your argument takes a huge hit unless you can defend that. And Haye was leagues better than Peter at ambushing.

I'd confidently pick him to win against just about anyone except for Tyson. The Steward version at least.

 

Wlad destroyed peter in 2010

 

Peter got destroyed way before that and was pretty much finished as a top fighter by then, after their first encounter his punch resistance and will to win was severely diminished ..he still did way better that the Russian lard who got suckered into WK's jab and grab.

 

Wlad was also a much better fighter in 2010 than he was in 2005. Better defense revamped style more confidence better at using range

 

yes, during that time it seemed he became more focused on what was effective and learnt how to go to it at all times with full confidence as prior to that he was far more skittish and unfocused in the ring.

If Brewster got stopped in round 4 , nobody would be saying Wlad was not in his prime.

He's only pre - prime for the simple reason he lost and you want to brush away that loss. Wake up. It doesn't work like that.

Wlad was in the pinnacle of his absolute prime when Sanders and Brewster destroyed him.

That was a shot version of Sanders on top of it. It wasn't a shot Wlad.
If you think another version of Wlad from another year does better , then I put forward a younger , faster and better Sanders.
If old , shot Sanders pasted him in two - prime Sanders does it in ONE.

aND THE pURRITY LOSS 100% counts as well. Because Purrity was a journeyman and not a contender - it equals it out.
And Wlad had more fights and experience in that fight than Tyson Fury has going in to the Wlad fight in Oct

He didn't even bust Iggy up with a right hand.

When he wasn't able to jump on top of Peter first time , he was running away from him all night long. He couldn't even box. Run and hold. Run and hold.

 

Helenious beat and stopped Peter more impressively and without ever using a single illegal tactic.

Took about 20 wild swings to put him down. Look how open Wlad is and you're saying this is the best ever version.

It only took Helenius a nice and tidy 1-2 left hook combo to finish Peter.
