Sam wasn't the same after getting beat up on the Vitali and Wlad 3x.

That's a massive amount of punishment. Possibly the worst ever for a HW to fight those guys 3 times.

Prime for prime, what makes you think Tyson has to take a lot of punishment to get to WK ? Unskilled caveman Peter pushed him to the limit and lasted the distance......Haye the fraud lasted the distance.....Janitor Jennings lasted the distance...........the Russian lard lasted the distance......and those guys are not even in the same zipcode as Tyson.......not ONE of the above took excessive punishment, yeah, some shots were landed especially the hook of the jab at the end of the fight against Peter but otherwise those were all safety first snooze fests, ok , the Peter fight was entertaining but otherwise my points stand.

Yeah, this place is far too gone these days. It's fun every now and then but a serious post gets mixed up with mostly shyte.

Peter: Almost knocked out in the 12th in their first fight. Knocked out in the 2nd.

Haye: Fell to the ground on multiple occasions. Wlad didn't land anything significant, but Haye was there to survive.

    AP: Got knocked down 4x.

Jennings: Had a high guard and was still almost stopped in the last round.

Wlad has great defense and if Tyson would try to get close he more than likely would eventually get hit with something big.

At which point Mike would probably smile and hold his chin as if to say "you can't dent this chin". Wlad is a beast, but put him in with a HW who is a killer, who has polished skills and a punch and Wlad will be in trouble. 6 foot 6 250 compared to 6 foot 5 235/240 isn't the biggest difference (a lot of the 80s superheavies were about that). Wlad is used to stationary targets, and again Mike had a habit of outjabbing jabbers. That beautiful little jab to get inside. There was a vid posted a while back, Lamon Brewster commenting on the importance of the left hook in beating Wlad.As for Holmes, he would grind it out and outbox Wlad. Holmes would likely get dropped but he would survive and use his head.

    :rofl

Ohh poor Wlad. The guy had a high guard.

Banks i can't hit him. He's doing that thing with his gloves where he puts them in front of his face , like some sort of defence. What will i do. What will i do:nonono:???:

Jennings never came close to being dropped, never mind stopped.

So you are convinced that those guys are on Tyson's level ? LOL, anybody with a boxing brain knows that Tyson would have stopped most likely all of them....Haye would not make it out of the first round, Peter and the Russian Bear would have been pure target practise and Jennings....please, I rest my case.

So WK would land something big but of course Mike would never land something "big".....Tyson's whole career consisted of hitting "big" guys with something"big"..........

I doubt Mike would have done that and even if he did, he lost the fight right then. Not respecting your opponent (especially if it is WK).

Are you really going to compare the 80s guys to Wlad?

Where was Lamon's left hook when they fought again? Why wasn't there a trilogy?

Outside of Holmes Wlad walks through the 80s. And its not even competitive. The 80s was one of the weakest eras in HW history.

Peter and Chris Byrd wouldn't have been a major title holder's in the 80's.

They wouldn't have even been contenders

Frank was just one of 4 fights Holmes had that year.

In the good ol days , fighters were able to box more than twice a year.

The guy who was got ran over by a shot Chaggy last night in the first got a major title shot against Wlad. I could go on too.

There was a lot of talent in the 80s, even though it was largely wasted.

Although I think that Wlad would beat every contender of that era, except perhaps Holmes, I think that he would have had a lot more competitive fights back then.

Bottom line is Wlad is beatable. Whether it be a slickster like Holmes, Biggs, etc. or a bomber Smith, Bruno however you want to classify the best guys of the 80s virtually anyone could pull an upset over Wlad. Guys maybe big but that classical skill isnt what it used to be in todays era and WLad's competition.
