Due to make his debut this Saturday on the undercard of the Jackals fight in Texas.

    I really rate Taylor & he's achieved a lot, to say he's only 24.!!
Be very very interested to see how he develops in the welterweight division (where I think aside from Brook, khan & maybe Gavin it is wide open ... Literally)

really enjoyed watching josh all throughout his amateur career but the one problem i see is his temprement. he could be wound up and he could lose his cool and against the better fighters in the pro ranks he could really pay for it.

but he is tall, has fast hands and can be aggressive, hopefully he can bring tv shows back to scotland!!

Fantastic prospect from Scotland and a very shrewd move going to the McGuigans. Would imagine he will be fast tracked due to his extensive INT AM background and all the experience in WSB tourney too.

Only can be good for Scottish boxing

Yeh I kinda know what you mean , however.... I'd say of all the pro camps out there, Barry's is the one I'd say has a good grip on the mental aspect of the game. They're very much into that part of it. Hopefully he will learn from those who've already walked the path.

Be good to see Joe Ham getting in on the act too, he's another kid with bags of potential.

joes a very good fighter, has a great engine and lives the life. his dad is very much involved with his career but tbh id like to see young joe training with a top class coach who knows teh ins and outs of the pro game. his dad is a good coach but he might hold joe back because imo joe coudl do great things.

Another fantastic prospect and former Scottish AM Boxing Champ with a ready made pro style. Possibly involving someone with a bit of knowledge will help speed up Joe's potential. Maybe involving someone like Peter Harrison who already has a proven track record working with fighters from scratch and Joe basically is still a novice pro? any thoughts people?

i agree, getting peter harrison or billy nelson to help when the big fights come would be a massive plus. his dad has all the makings of a top class coach but as with everything he will need experience in longer fights etc and im sure he knows this already and wants to make sure young joe gets the best chance possible to reach his potential.

Yeh Joe is still a novice pro, think he's had. 3 or 4, looks to love to work the body - does so with great sucsess too... I like the look of him, as already said he has the right work ethics too!

Oh defo Joe works very hard and lives the life from what I can see & disposing of opponents in the right manner at this early stage of his career. Danny Vaughan could be another shout as I know they have worked together in the past and would be some good sparring over innSpain for Joe too. Listen Joe and his dad are doing well at this stage so it might be hard to change that as they may see no reason but I do get from where you are coming regarding working with someone when they go in to the longer rounds

Yeh there is no reason to change things at the minute , if it's not broken then it don't need fixing.

As for further down the line, tbh they both seem quite switched on so I'd imagine Joe Snr will be aware he can only take him so far.... The Glasgow area has a few good trainers who are held in high regard, but there's also a bit of interest with the new MGM Scotland there, so that may be an option.
    Is he managed by Morrison?
But defo plenty to choose from with the likes of Harrison, Nelson & as you say Danny Vaughan (though I'm not sure whether he's permanently Glasgow , thought he was a lot of the time in Liverpool??)

Yea I'm sure Joe is managed by Alex Morrison and trains between his dad's gym and Morrisons too. To my knowledge Danny is based in Spain full time so could be an option to go over maybe a few weeks before fights at this stage until he starts moving up the rounds. Danny, Peter, Billy & also Danny Lee who developed JohnSimpson from scratch to wining domestic titles so plenty of options for young Joe and his dad. As you say if it ain't broke don't fix it might be the thought process. Joe Snr though has other fighters currently pro and coming through too so must be doing something right

there will be a natural rivalry between joe ham and jon slowey, they both boxed for denistoun before joe left and after speaking to both over the years there isnt any love lost between them. who do you think would take it?

Peter or Billy could help him, but so could his dad quite possible. Did people not say 20 years ago about another Joe that he should not have his dad training him ?
