And he caught and demolished guys who moved a lot better and a lot faster on the back foot than Wlad can

I think the old version of Foreman losses but the young, faster, version of Foreman wins.

Somewhere in between the Pulev, Thompson, and Wach performances.

George would land his fair share? w Klitschko might have the best defense in heavyweight history. He's barely been touched in the last 10 years and you think a 45 year old man will land his fair share?

Wlad has never been knocked out by one shot in his 17 year ring career, yet a 45 year old man might be able to do it?

Foreman struggled life or death with axel shulz Alex Stewart and was shut out by Tommy Morrison

I think we are looking at a blow out here

I guess I'll take Wlad here, winning by decision or a stoppage, but I'm not concerned about that. What I'm more concerned about is why people don't aren't bringing up the fact that at 42 Foreman gave an ATG heavyweight in or around his prime, a very competitive fight, and still had what it took to wobble one of the best chins boxings ever seen.

Of course stylistically and size wise the two aren't comparable, but Foreman showed us what he still had in the tank and I'd personally point to this as his best performance of his comeback.

What would be more entertaining to discuss would be if we made the time periods a few years earlier, then things get juicy, agendas start to show, etc.

I'd imagine Wlad have to do a fair bit of spoiling, until he broke his man down. Foreman is coming to fight and would probably be the hardest puncher Wlad has faced. He has a shot here. I'm not sure George could catch him clean enough often, or find a burst to damage Wlad's, slightly suspect chin, but he definitely has a shot.

    Holyfield?

You didn't have to hit like Foreman to wobble him. He got hurt a lot, he took lots of gambles and sometimes just had lapses. But his recovery ability is elite for sure, one of the best. Never seen a guy look so hurt, only to come storming back. The Warrior, what else can you say?

Aren't 2 of Wlad's best wins over fighters that came from lower weight classes and weighed around 210 lbs in Chris Byrd and David Haye. Not to diminish these victories in any way, as they excellent wins and pretty emphatic ones at that. I also don't care for the fact he outweighs them by 25 and 30 lbs, it just seems interesting that these are what I would consider 2 of his best scalps.

It would also be interesting to see what the guys on this forum that place a lot of cadence in size when discussing mythical match ups think about this.

I don't think there is any question now that Povetkin is his best win.

If both men had a road map of each other while Foreman 1 would know his best chances would be early but he may leave himself open to counters by the defensive minded Vlad.

Vlad on the other hand would know that the prime Foreman lacked stamina and was easy to hit with right hands. Foreman would try to get to that chin with the knowledge that if he could land he may get the desired result but Vlad can also fire a rocket right hand down the pike while Foreman wings those roundhouses

A prime Vlad would keep the older Foreman on the end of the jab and move and fire a rocket sporadically until a weary and beaten and busted up Foreman (Stewart) gets stopped

Povetkin is a beast and the Vlad fight forced him to take a step up and train harder. He is one of my favorite heavyweights right now and I really enjoy his style. Should Vlad retire I pick Povetkin to be top dog until the likes of Parker and Joshua come into the fray

I didn't specifically say it wasn't, although I'm inclined to disagree ever so slightly. Well that it is clearly his best win anyway. Povetkin seemed to go backwards or at least hinder progress for a few years after his win against Eddie Chambers. Well if I'm being honest with myself, it didn't just seem that way.

Sorry to add this one last thing, honestly not banging on about this point, but Povetkin's biggest struggle minus Wlad, was of course a razor thin decision against Huck, the former Cruiserweight king that had disputed decisions of his own south of the heavyweight division.

Although Povetkin post Wlad has proved he may well be the no.3 heavyweight of this era
