    Strange comment:huh
Bruno had 45 fights and lost 5 ,all to world champions 3 of those fights were to men considered for ATG top ten status.

What is it with the nostalgia for midgets with beerguts ruling the heavyweight division?

No one's picking him to rule anything. All were doing is giving him a stylistic chance against a vulnerable fringe contender from the 80s who had severe stamina problems.

I can definitely see Bruno winning this fight but Layne has a chance if he makes it past round 6

He was 6'1", just two inches shorter than this supposed monster, and this don't look like a beer gut.

Bruno weighed around 240 for his last four fights. Frank turned pro under 220 and was as low as 222lb eleven years into his career. The guy went up and down to suit the opponent.

It's funny that Frank Brunos highest weight is considered his best weight.

You have completely missed the point. Whatever Bruno weighed the fluctuation always consisted of muscle, not flab.

I picked Bruno at the weight he scaled when he won the title,it seems an entirely reasonable stance to me. Bruno scaled 246.75lbs
    248lbs
    247.75lbs
    247lbs
For his last 4 fights , that isn't around 240lbs in my book it's nearer 250lbs.

I said he scaled over 40lbs more than Layne's best weight and he did . Layne's best win imo, is his dec over Walcott for which he scaled 192lbs or 55lbs less than Bruno when Bruno beat McCall.

At 193bs for Marciano ,Layne was described as looking "soft in the mid-section",Marciano conceded 7.5lbs to Layne yet won every round before koing him.

Layne would be conceding over 40lbs to Bruno and would end up the same as he did with Rocky.PRONE ON THE CANVAS.

I don't move goal posts, I leave that to you.

Overly bulked up Bruno who nearly gassed out against McCalls nonexistant pressure would certainly lose to Layne.

Bruno was a little better when he was in the 220s.

And I still can't get over how the difference between a 6'1" man and a 6'3" man is that between a giant and a midget...

I met Frank four years ago he had lost a lot of weight but still training to keep fit. He said he was "not much more than sixteen stone" at that time.

Interestingly Lewis, Tyson, Tucker and Bruno who I have met in retirement all look a lot lighter now than when they were boxing.

Old heavyweights used to get fat.

I believe that with time and reflection this, too, will pass.

Its called 40+lbs of muscle you turnip:patsch

Bruno was a better boxer than Layne and hit harder imo, he also was only ko'd by top bangers.
Layne was on the floor multiple times against guys , not all of whom were top bangers.
