    Great set of posts kirk

    --

AFAIK, and I could be wrong because the GGG-HBO has been renewed/redone at least twice now, is that the best chance for Lara-GGG to happen short of Haymon coming to terms with HBO is Monaco. Or Europe in general, but lets face it, for this type of bout the best hope is for the Monaco Royals and Monte Carlo SBM to put up the money to make the fight for their billionaire black tie crowd.

I think, but don't know, that HBO while having exclusive North American distributorship for GGG fights, and a contractual clause stating that facilities for HBO Broadcasting must be available if they desire is in effect - that they have less or no veto on opponent since they are not putting up the primary purse money for Euro bouts.

If another party puts up the money for the fight, I am sure HBO would still air the fight- why wouldn't they? They get a relative ultra bargain on GGG's Euro fights. They have so much say on the US fights because they are the ones funding them, which pretty much makes it their way or the highway if K2 wants to put on a US show. At least if they want 7 figure purses and TV coverage.

Oh course he'd accept. Canelo would be the A side and that fight would bring lots of viewers and lots of money.

NO, Canelo should fight for the Middleweight title at 160.

GGG is a relatively small MW, Ward is a big SMW, Canelo is as big as maybe even bigger than GGG. You do the math.

The Triple Duck has essentially shot himself in the foot. Cotto or Canelo will be sure to demand a catchweight in any potential fight with Bum-love-kin and the Triple Duck, by demanding a catchweight for a potential Ward fight, has absolutely NO ground to stand on for refusing.

Cotto doesn't have the heart to fight GGG, not even at CW. And I think GGG might be okay with 157 should Canelo beats Cotto.
