    What?

I've never stated a different view on the speed bag, always said it's useless, as it is.

I think you said something like people do it just because it's something that boxers do! Therefore it's old skool! Got it?

Actually, if i said something like that, it's more along the lines of people see pro's doing it so they copy them without thinking, nothing to do with "old skool".

    Are you done?

    Done with what?

So if Pro's do it it there must be a reason or are they all just wasting their time? If they are just wasting their time maybe you need to somehow get this out to the media so all pro boxers can focus more on boxing.

    Embarrassing yourself.

Explain why they do it. What do they get out of hitting the speed bag?

I already explained to you why.

It's something your use either at the end of the training session or at the end of a camp. It keeps you sharp, keeps the blood flowing, and improves your hand eye coordination, especially on defense.

Can you hit the speed bag with your eyes closed, of course, but it also means that you're missing out on some of the benefits. Even then, you're still improving your rhythm, especially if you use the bag properly. It makes it easier to fire off combinations because you're hands are continuously firing, improving your motor reflexes.

In my experience, the speed bag is especially helpful when fighting against a southpaw if you use your back hand occasionally when hitting the speed bag. This is great for blocking your opponents lead hand.

Virus, learn to hit the speed bag, gets some rounds under your belt, and you'll begin to the see the importance.

Honestly, you should stay in your lane on this one, virus. This is not your expertise. You are not a boxing trainer. There is more to it than throwing a towel over your shoulder and instructing guys to lift weights. Lifting weights is only part of the equation. It's part of the general preparation, but is not a technical aspect involved in the skillset.

Lifting weights does not equate to boxing skill. Boxing is specialized.

I agree. You should be moving your head when throwing punches when you can anyway.
