Logical title for AJ. Pick up first belt plenty of safe opponents Then first defence + pick up British v White before Xmas Then Chisora European v Price and pick up Lonsdale belt
Very close to being right I think, although possibly they go straight to Price or Teper after Cornish and Whyte. If all goes to plan I think they should try and have AJ in a world title eliminator or actual title fight around July next year. I genuinely cannot see if he comes through the above three fights in the manner I think he will, why they should hold him back for any longer. Add to that his back issues and although there is no rush, I don't see what is to be gained with this current level of heavies in waiting.
I've seen a lot of people mention Cornish and AJ fighting for the British and/or Commonwealth strap, laughing at the thought of it and basically ridiculing his record. I for one wouldn't want to see that fight, it's pointless.. in terms of power, ability and where there going in there careers AJ is on another playing field. Which is no disgrace as the mans got the Olympic pedigree and has the big bandwagon behind him. BUT in defence of Cornish, he only had 9 amateur fights ffs. He's had so many fights which have effectively "padded his record" as so many like to say, because he's learning the game whilst in the pro ranks.
AJ v Cornish for Vacant Commonwealth in September would tick the box Cornish would have one the best records on the list of those eligible to fight for the title
Not so sure on that Lucas is basic but hes a big heavy lump who can punch a bit...That's more than any of AJ's opponents so far. If it wasn't for the fact that Browne seems in a line for a title shot this would be a good fight for AJ in 2 fights time
These British and Commonwealth titles always turn up vacant before we get an actual fight on our hands.
